Indoor Auto Critical Kush / Mars Hydro Grow (please critique where needed)

So, not a whole lot to report. Betty's still chugging along. Fed her at lights on this morning and took a few pics (only one of which came out decently due to my damned shaky hands) but if I'm counting correctly she's just starting her fourth node. She may be a bit of a runt, but she's a *healthy* runt - not a single bit of wind or light or nute burn yet, and she's taking progressively larger feedings.

Here she is, day...19? 20?

Unless anything new and spectacular occurs in the meantime, I think I'll likely be updating this journal every 7-10 days or so. Thanks to anyone who's following along!

@ANTiFA ..she is still looking good and healthy.. plenty of time to make up some size.. I was wondering, do you have a pH pen and a ppm meter??(or did i just miss that info)

Hi there @ANTiFA, slightly slow but looking good & healthy. Just
wondering why not push her light schedule to 20/4? You always grow on a 16/8 schedule?

Nope, just using the little vial and dropper kit that GH sells. I had a PH pen when I first started trying to grow but the damned thing would never give a consistent answer, and when I tried to calibrate it the little screw in the back of the pen stripped. I was gonna get a new one the next time I went to the hydro store, but the only one they had was a combo meter for $100+. :nono: I asked the guy behind the counter if they had any of those GH test kits and he gave me one for free. Seems to be working pretty well so far!

What'd be the benefits of doing so? Could I do so without risking any sort of hermi situation? This is my first *successful* grow (Ibotched a half dozen attempts before this, don't ask!) but she's been 16/8 the whole way so far.

Oh myyyy...Opened the tent this morning to give her a drink and I thought I could smell a fait whiff of that sweet stink. Pulled her out to take a look, and yes indeed, she's begun to bring the funk. :woohoo1: I'm so freaking excited, y'all. Some pics coming later. Gotta get some new nutes mixed up and everything put away before my sister and nephew show up...

@ANTiFA .. I know yer situation,i worked my way up to a bluelab ph pen for about 80-85$US ..its a necessary investment, especially for coco growers.. As my plants are babies i pH down to 5.2-5.4 range, as they grow the pH moves up and at about half life it is at 6.0-6.1 , this is accurately and easily monitored with a good meter that is checked for calibration, blue lab includes a one year on the spot warranty, and a calibration kit is now included in their kits.. We had @Bluelabs Cindy in for an interview,if you check the Auto Warrior archives, you can read that info

Yeah, I definitely intend on picking one up down the line - for the forseeable future though ultra-budget is the way I gotta go. Only pulling in about $750/month currently (disability) so I'm pinching ever penny, lol. If it makes any difference I'm growing in a 3:1 perlite/vermiculite mix, and so far so good.

The only issue I've had so far besides the slow/leggy start has been a very small rusty/browish spot on one of the fan leaves. I'll probably be upping some more pics later today - if I do, I'll make sure to post one of the spot in question to see what y'all think. It hasn't gotten any larger since I noticed it a few days ago (actually looks like it may be shrinking) and the rest of the plant looks great, so I haven't been stressing too much about it but other more experienced eyes are always a good thing.
