we're still having a couple nights a week here in the low 30's (f) so early planting isnt really an option

Ouch - sorry to hear that. I'm just 2-weeks from my second harvest - not trying to rub it in. I can start in February... and have planted in January if the winter is unusually warm. Before auto's I had to plant photos in December (run them <12 hrs daylight from seed) to get multiple grows outdoor per season. Yes, the yield was low, and sometimes we (god forbid) got a frost which slows things down, but I gotta love the South and its climate!

I hate it when I can't wear shorts and flip-flops year round! I'm what most northener's call a pussy :D when it comes to cold weather. Happy growing.

I think that home breeders are in some ways more reliable than the professional counterpart. Man with my local breeders club we can actually smoke the pot from out members before we buy the seeds. Wow way better it just has to be good to survive. I have not sent much money to breeders this year I have swaped at my local breeders club instead.

My advice is get together with other breeders in your area and form a small club. It will give you access to the best seeds you will ever buy.

Genetics work is what you make it and is easily 80% good luck. You have to be willing to work at it. The bit about stealing genetics is just so much horse manure. There isn't 15 degrees of seperation between all the breeders. Afghani breeds still are what is at the base of most of the seeds. Yeah there is some other primary sources but twenty generations back they are all about the same. I still breed with Trainwreck and Skunk 1. Wait a minute isn't Trainwreck from Skunk.
I wish it was legal here u got to fly under the radar.lol I'd love have a few regular autos to breed me some for seeds with some I've ordered..

Be careful what you wish for... some legal areas are nothing more than registration points.

permits and grow area "requirements" mean inspections...and registration. I'll remain in the shadows thanks.
