Wake and bake in the garden with general musings and ramblings... Hey, I'm Stoned man ;-)
I got some new medicine last night and couldn't wait to wake and bake after being up till 3am last night for no apparently good reason... So I headed down to the garden. Following is some musings and ramblings about progress so far, including some obvious stoner moments. :Woozy..?:
Quick note, Roxanne and Ella are cranking for the Auto Berry dwarf's that they are. Nice thick stems, squat with tons of branching. I have high (ha ha) expectations for these two sisters. I'm torn between the two, they are both sexy in their own way...
Roxanne (1,2)... Ella (3,4)...
5 in tall............ 4 7/8 in tall
9 in leaf span.... 10 in leaf span
7 tip leaves...... 5 tip leaves
So far at day 28, kind of stumbling my way along, here are my notes about what I've done to help the plants along in life "List";
Controlled humidity to enhance transpiration during growth - 70-80% for seedlings, 65-70 once they filled out the second set of leaves, steady 60 right now, 40-50 once they are flowering like mad.
Enhanced the original nutes I got (Buddha Grow, Buddha Bloom) with some additives I've used before with excellent results and one new one (granite flower) to enhance minerals like calcium and magnesium. I made this all into a brew, stew, soup whateva you wanna call it which I'm currently IV dripping with undiluted soup (recipe and products in an earlier post)

so far it seems that my witches brew is working as I had expected... I'm still developing my theory regarding this nutrient and water constant delivery method. All of my assumptions in the nutrient program are a result of doing a lot of reading here and elsewhere. Getting this stuff to sink in and make sense took me a while but I think I've got the general drift if you know what I mean...
Ensured excellent, constant air flow and exchange - one fan to provide indirect wind to harden the stems and hardy the plant. The other to provide high volume airflow through the tent and subsequent carbon filter to control smell, fungus, mildew...
So far no bugs but I'm going to get Ladybugs to help me out in that department.
180w, 7band, 5w-led panel (1.5 feet above at the moment) and 4 t5s (sides) on a 20/4 schedule since birth. Wondering if adjusting the schedule some time into flowering is recommended. Going to do some research.
Soil test kit to make sure that I don't send the girls on an acid trip.
Moist, not wet or very moist (so your finger comes out dry with moist soil particles on it when you stick your finger in), soil/perlite mix, self maintaining ph range around 6.5 avg. (purchased sweet soil to begin with).
Given all the reading I've done, I think I'm going to have cal/mag on hand, even using the 'organic' granite flower, I'm not entirely sold on the idea that this is going to be the holy grail. I've had other plants in the flower garden that you had to have some special stuff for so I'm heeding the warnings regarding these trace minerals which could get depleted in such a small amount of soil with a vigorously flowering plant.
Patience...
That's it and I'm basically going to stick with it, and do the veg/flower nute adjustments as these ladies mature... Unless someone gives me a big dope slap about something.
