Are opiate pain meds worth it?

We all know, or think we do, of the negative side of opiates. I ponce spent 2 months on Fentanyl, a synthetic morphine. For which i spent 10 days in hell to get off of.

And now let me tell you whats even worse.

I was given Percoset for pain. i decided i'd use them the shortest time i could. So i took 2 as per prescription, every 6 hours for three days. Then I decided that was enough. I felt fairly good and pain was tolerable. 12 hours later I didn't feel so good. 24 hours later I was in full withdrawal.sick stomach, cramps, sweats.

its now 48 hours and I'm still sick, although its a bit better.
So, three days of pain relief has cost me almost three days of pain and sickness. So what did I gain from this????????

maybe people need to start saying no to opiate pain meds. Pain is no fun but it does serve a purpose or our bodies wouldn't create it. Maybe we need to learn to deal with it in some situations. Maybe doctors are too liberal with prescriptions. Personally, I'm beginning to think that opiates should not be prescribed for use outside of a hospital, and that part of the recovery process should include detox/withdrawal management as standard procedure. They pump you full of this shit, then dump you off to home to deal with it on your own!

If I ever have to do this again, I WILL find a way to do it without highly addictive substances! I believe I'd be farther along with my recovery than I am.

The only opiate id ever use is from the poppy latex itself dried and puffed. Synthetic anything is not the best choice. If you are having issues with pain or opiate withdrawls you should look into Kratom Leaf extract. Its a natural plant medicine that will prevent you from having opiate withdrawl, its helpful for pain and is non addictive

i was on Perk 10s, 4 times aday for 5 yrs. I felt like shit all the time. The only way i could stop was my med weed.
For the last 10 yrs i have grown med so i dont have to take perk 10s any more.it took me month to get over the addiction....
now i take tramadal 3 times aday
Autos have made it faster to grow and more choices.
Good luck to you I feel your PAIN.

POP22 i think 90% of humans fail to realize to true addiction of opiates IMO they can cause you have have "phantom" pain as a side effect after you have stopped using them.. people still think there in pain when its the drug causing the phantom pain. This almost always ends up with another dose taken then another another see where im going? i was on 10 325 4 a day .. now i take 1/4 of 1 maybe depends on what i do that day but never ever over 5mil .. 2.5 Mg will kill my pain with little side effects.. but thats a chip of a pill..

You should consider growing high cbd strains of cannabis. They work very well for pain without feeling "fucked up" royal queen seeds medical mass has about 11%cbd 10%thc . Euphoria has about 10%cbd 9%thc. Making edibles or doing an ethenol extraction and putting oil into gel caps works very well. But i personally think just butter and make some edibles works just as well. The 1:1 ratio of cbd to thc is from my experience great for chronic pain . (Get it? Chronic ^.^)

Poor pop..feel Well soon..:coffee2:

When I got hit with a big dose of morphine..hospital..I counted 20 odd Days of side effects...:nono:...BUT I wasn't in a position to refuse it.

What pain are they giving you the meds for..the new injury..or old war wounds..?:coffee:

Morphine and canna both contain Alkaloids...IMO..the Alkaloids are the pain killers we seek..AND we can do quite a lot for pain with some cheap complimentry meds to use alongside the canna.

If you want details...yell for a med Mod..

This is why i recommend kratom. The alkaloids in kratom are so useful for pain and opiate withdrawl that big pharma has pulled a patent on the alkaloid in kratom. Naturally of course then now they've launched a smear campaign to make the plant illegal so they can sell you their synthetic version.

Personally, I really like opiates both for pain relief and pleasure.
But I have had to kick more times than I can possibly count.
Haven't had to do so in about 15 years But, for me, it takes about 3 days to kick and the withdrawal can be anything from feeling crappy dragged down to a bad stomach flu-ish with shits and barfing.
I have found I get over it quicker when I have resolved to not give in to my own whining. And long warm baths, lots of long warm baths.
Like I said, the kick last about 3 days, other side effects are about 3 weeks like Mossy said.

Disgraceful..But..not unexpected..we are only cash cows when we are sick or in pain..
