I am seriously considering making up a new light that uses 2 of the same strips I use in my main light in a + shape placed between the four plants aimed directly upwards to light up the under side of the foliage.
Here it is!

Originally for bottom lighting, but it could be set up for side lighting or top lighting. 37 leds running 9watts at 100% per arm.
I need to start building my own side lights...use high blue ones for veg and full spectrum...far and deep red for flower with full spectrum....

I could use these for underneath the plants..but I use it for cloning carnivorous plants...

What do u think about this? I have 2 Cree far red and LG uv bars and I could put one down facing under the plants....think it's a good idea. It's really high in red the uv is bluish ...

It isn't that hard to fabricate your own sidelights. This summer during the off season I am expanding my cabinet enough to use them again. For now the only way I can get additional light down low is from the bottom, adapt and overcome :headbang:

Edit: I wouldn't use the uva bar down low, the red bar would work but is probably better on top as well. The easiest way is with cheap household led light bulbs in your required spectrum 2700k-3500k
