New Grower AFN Sold Out

Its all good sunny. I think were all on the same page now. Maybe just come across the wrong way with the title of this thread. If you want to make a statement like above thats perfectly fine. I agree with the money you buy an amare for you could DIY your own with the same conponenets for less. But if you have the cash and arent good with your hands then the amare is a fabulous option and supwr efficient.

We also pro.ote conpanies like norther grow lights that sell the conponents and push DIY and save money. We also have threads that detail EXACTKY how to build your own and save the money. We try to cater to everyone and help anyone who needs it

Yes, I learned how to build a COB light here.. Excellent thread.

The title of the thread got me too. I am new(ish) and have been around a forum or hundred, and I don't get that vibe. Since I'll be returning to grow with mostly autos, I came here, browsed, liked and stayed. I have not delved into the product testing threads much as I have little interest in them and probably won't unless I am planning on buying it or an equivalent product. I have been buying parts/pieces from Northern Grow Lights prior of ever seeing it in the CannaZone. I am a bit positive biased on that company.

I hit reply instead of more options and got in a fight with my phone. So I lost train of thought. Haha..

Ok, I retract my statement then.. It just seemed spammy to me. If you say it's not for profit then I sincerely apologize.. I promise I'm not a troll.

Back to the original topic of lights and LED's... New growers should be careful when buying LED lighting. Manufacturers make many wild claims. A good manufacturer will tell you:

The brand and model of the LED's.. Cree CX whatever, Citizen etc..
The driver used.
Type of heat sync.
Provide a graphic of the umol coverage at differing distances.
Pull at the wall.

Based on the specs or lack of, and in my opinion, the original light cannot possibly live up to its claims and is not a wise choice of light.

As discussed, the Amare is a very cool light, but in my opinion, very expensive when compared to the cost of building a comparable light.

What company doesn't make claims that aren't exactly 100% true? How many breeders claim strains will finish in X amount if time and they take Y amount of time... Or vary greatly between phenos.

How many car companies claim 34 miles per gallon but may actually be 28?

How many cable companies charge X amount of dollar per month for 200 mps and you on average may pull 110?

Do you see my point?

Every company, every breeder, every manufacturer exaggerates or embellishes a bit. That's no secret. We provide enough THOROUGH tests to give our members enough reference to make their own educated decisions.

Just like any other product.
