New Grower AFN Sold Out

To the best of my knowledge, AFN has yet to make a profit. Never has a month gone by where an Admin (who shall remain nameless, but you know who you are) has not had to put his hand in his pocket and Bail out AFN. Also, all the admins, globals etc give their time for free. For the love of Auto's. No one gets any money. I have never had a freebie or seeds or lights etc.....so I cannot accept that AFN is "Sold Out"

Just my free 2cents worth.

@Eyes on Fire He did the same thing to me, check my amare se450 review's comments. I felt exactly the same way. Don't take his bate and just move along...

This whole post should be deleted imho... I can't believe a word he says

AFN hasnt sold out to anyone BUT ITS MEMBERS... as my dear friend EP has stated. This is a non profit deal. All the benifits of us having vendors now has been passed out to the community with cannazone testing of free product inturn we recieve non biased feed back and everyone gets to see first hand what the products can do. The people of afn benifit from this

@iampepe you are quite right. Don't feed the trolls. I should know better. But having said that, it was worth stating it for the record as AT pointed out. Our members benefit from the hard work of the guys like AT and yourself who do a great job for the love of AFN, canna and its healing powers. Long may it be so and now let us draw a line under this................

eP.

Honestly as a new member I love that the vendors are active here! It's awesome to be able to connect with them, interact, and ask questions. Furthermore, it's terrific to see all the product/strain testing that goes on around here. I haven't once had cause to question the integrity of any member. That is, at least, until today @Sunny747 .This sounds like a big load of sour grapes!

Learn about LED lighting... You don't understand the science of light and LED. Let me ask you this? How many umols does that light provide 12 inches from the source 18 inches above?

I don't like to see people get ripped off. No way that light replaces a 250 HPS. The claims are illegitimate. They claim that it replaces 8 t5's.. ok, what length of t5? 8 4ft? No way... 8 2ft? Maybe..

Seriously, I'm not trying to ruffle feathers or be a bad dude, but I do want people to get a fair shake when it comes to LED's. The technology takes time to understand and there are many ways to manipulate the numbers..

:haha: ahh the truth comes out, it's an LED flame out is it?! Well, if whatever light that is (you didn't bother to even reference it) doesn't hack it, it'll be shown, live, right here won't it! And if it's a common well documented issue, other members will take due note, as will Staff, and the vendors rep will suffer for real,... and unless they address it or whatever, they may not be here anymore either, that's how it works here dude,...If you have a specific beef with a company and light, take it up with them, or in the right forum if you can keep a cool head. Our LED knowledgeable folks/Staff here are pretty hard-assed, not sycophants, and have the grows and reviews to prove it, one way or the other... Only don't crap on AFN's doorstep and then bitch about how unclean the place is, which is what your thread is apparently about... Direct your malcontent properly Sunny, we don't censor here, but we do bounce trolls,.. tread lightly...

Ok, I retract my statement then.. It just seemed spammy to me. If you say it's not for profit then I sincerely apologize.. I promise I'm not a troll.

Back to the original topic of lights and LED's... New growers should be careful when buying LED lighting. Manufacturers make many wild claims. A good manufacturer will tell you:

The brand and model of the LED's.. Cree CX whatever, Citizen etc..
The driver used.
Type of heat sync.
Provide a graphic of the umol coverage at differing distances.
Pull at the wall.

Based on the specs or lack of, and in my opinion, the original light cannot possibly live up to its claims and is not a wise choice of light.

As discussed, the Amare is a very cool light, but in my opinion, very expensive when compared to the cost of building a comparable light.
