I really like that set up and it has awesome results. That's all I'm wanting a simple set up and just growing enough for my own medical needs. My only concern is I think one of the biggest things I am doing wrong is over watering. They don't get that wilted over water look they just seem to pop there head through the dirt and then they seem to just stop growing. I'm trying so hard this time and i keep going in a lifting the cups 10 times a day because to me I think they need water but I'm trying to leave them until I really see they need water. If I can get the hang of the watering I think this would be a perfect set up. I'm trying to save for a big T5 with the 8 lights but My oldest is graduating this year and I think thats going to break the bank account.
Ty FD, Wiz, and dykster for all the help its greatly appreciated.
Sounds to me that you are getting a little dampening off and that is coming from the over water. Its ok we all do it and i STILL do it. I lost two on my last germ as well, two in which were first crosses but hey it happens.
there is a little trick that i use for the first week or so, maybe even 1.5 just depends on the plant. Im not sure the compound you are working in to start the seed. If you are cracking in paper towels, and then planting
get you an eye dropper. One that holds about 5ml of water or so, even one of those baby syringes to give medicine work great. Even if you go germ to soil this will work too, set you little seed in the hole and use no more that that 5ml
dont pre soak the medium or anything just the hole that you plant in needs the water. leave the rest of the soil dry. Now once you have added the seed and the water let them go for a solid 24 hrs and then add 5 more ML of water to the soil around the seed.
this will stop the instant death you are seeing. I tell ya what eagle, i have a thread on my methods going right now. Ill grab you the link. Why don you follow me in there and ill walk you through to the end. I just got seedlings above the soil 3 maybe 4 days old.
be a good time to come watch and play along
