New Grower A few questions about Dwc

@Pigskinfantasy I ran into alot of the same problems mainly height issues but I'm onto day 62 now and she's only just starting to flower , think IL go to a soil grow next until I can afford a chiller and bigger tent although I am loving growing in dwc

Or, as someone said here earlier, pack it away during the summer, and recontinue when the weather is more hospitable.

I didn't know that you already started your grow. Thought you were still researching, Switching to 12/12 lights finally triggered flowering for me right around the same time. My plant probably is a photo. It happens.

I check ppm and ph daily as well as water res temps. I log it in my grow journal so I can see if anything is drifting. If ph is going out of range I add ph up or down to adjust. If ppm stays the same they are in there sweet spot and you should try to keep the same ppm if you need to top off. Plants drink more when they get bigger so you shouldn't have to worry much about topping off the first few weeks of veg until about 6 weeks hits. If your ppm is rising from the day before you have too much nutrients and you should lower the ppm with just ro water, if ppm rises it means your plants drinking more water than nutrients. If your ppm is decreasing over a days course your plant is drinking more nutrients than water, this means you should add more nutrients to raise ppm because your plants want to take in more nutrients. You always log everything every day so you can go back and see. If you smoke a lot of weed like me you'll forgot your numbers the next day so make sure to always keep a notebook handy and log it. Your plants will tell you what they want by reading them every day. Good luck

Grow in the basement where it's cooler. I don't need a chiller. If your water temps are hitting above 72 degree Fahrenheit you should be adding hydroguard or h202 or Dutch master zone, one of the 3 products will keep your res healthy with warmer temps. There's ways around not using a chiller. Fuck soil, keep doing hydro and once you got it down you won't regret it. So much faster growth once the plant becomes established they will outgrow soil plants every time. If you have any questions or need any help feel free to ask. Pm me anytime

I researched for like 3 years before I started. I've been researching since. Lol. Just when you think you know everything you really don't. There's so many variables (different ways) to growing it's crazy. I only know hydro really good with what I do. I know soil because I've researched it also but I won't grow in soil as i love my bubble buckets. Waters cheaper than soil in the long run I feel. Some hydro grow mediums can be reused over and over just need to clean and wash and sterilize them after or before each use. Faster growth and bigger plants. Low stress training is perfect for height restrictions. Simple and easy and very effective at producing more bud. Making a flat canopy pays off when light can hit your whole plants verses just the tops. Bigger colas all the way down. I still know nothing about coco coir. Have never researched coco.

I agree with you, man. Researched a lot and took the plunge into Dwc with my first grow. Had some challenges, but am sure if it was any other medium, my plants would have died. I just want to try a run without 100 degree days in my cabinet! But, no way would I switch from water!

Never give up the fight. Anyone can do it with some basic knowledge.

I wish I could do that but once water temps get above 74 degrees it's absorbtion rate slows and it's bacteria growth is fast root rot sets in and I have had entire grows go bad .so now hot month coco with a wick system and winter DWC 5 gallon buckets with double air stones and 6-8" net pot. I have had success both ways look at this harvest that I am about to have in coco AND BETA TESTER BEANS

You wish you could do what? H202 will stop root rot above 72 degrees, hydroguard will too, so will Dutch master zone. These products are made so you can have higher res temps without getting root rot. Much cheaper than a chiller. And if you grow in your basement your basement floor will keep res temps cooler on the cold cement floor. All tricks to help you avoid root rot. I got root rot my first run and it sucks. Killed some plants but some survived it. I haven't had root rot since I have used hydroguard and moved my room into my basement for keeping temps down easier in the air and also water temps.

I've grown in my attic middle of winter, freezing cold temps. Had a little heater but it sucked. Never thought they'd survive but they grew and finished and came to be some good dank
