Some of us are never going to be mods - me for instance. Some are never going to get noticed to become developers - me for instance. How about just badges for 1000 posts or maybe being on the site for a year? That could happen without anything political.

I would be against a post count badge because some people get obsessed with post counts on Internet forums and start posting endless crap to pad their numbers. Rep and Likes show that someone has quality over quantity with their posts, and that's the most important thing IMO. We've all seen members who show up and run up tons of posts in a short time and then disappear. For that reason, recognizing those who contribute over a long period like a year would mean more to me.

I think a useful badge would be one for those who have completed at least one grow log on the site. That not only shows that someone is willing to take the time to make a real contribution to the site, but also that they're speaking from real-world experience rather than just repeating what they've read elsewhere.

Dont think you can say it any better then that Andy. I agree.

Very Good Point. I would rather see that someone has showed his successes & and failures on the forum with less posts, than someone that has numerous posts without any demonstrated skills.

A "Successful Grow" badge would be cool to have, if one had documented their grow here.

I think that's a cool idea. I also think that some people like me offer little or no advice simply because we are still learning and I always hated people who thought they knew everything.

I guess what I am trying to say is, I think going by grows is a great idea!

Forgive me, I am once again stoned! :bong:

This is exactly my point someone gave you a badge and it is probably well deserved but when you look at my site - no awards no nothing. I breed a lot of different home breeding. I plant more seeds each month than the average 10 people on this site. I probably grow a lot more plants than most of you do. I developed my own style of growing. I try to keep my posts interesting. I don't get any recognition or awards.

Just give me a little recognition for 1000 posts and maybe a badge when I have been active here for a year. Why not do you think it will hurt the quality of my posts. Hey maybe it will I don't know but why is that a problem for you. I really strongly disagree with your attitude about it. You don't mind saying it so neither do I.

yup you got that right, a better badge would be when someone has there "liked" 90% of there posts... in your case any your over the top...lol

1000 is nothing 4000+ maybe...

Hey Nelson, give it some time mate - system is new and maybe admins/mods can't get to everyone atm but I'm sure everybody would get what they deserve sooner or later.
I don't think any badge/rep bars would make you a better or more knowledgeable grower :2cents:
