Outdoor 6 x Mandala Safari Mix (Photo, Reg)

More heavy rain late yesterday afternoon and early evening.
Shouldn't worry them at all, so I'm not going to worry either.

Will continue to collect some more pollen from the male in the cabinet.
He's also putting out a few crystals on his leaves,
and showing touches of purple on the pollen sacks.

At a random guess, he may be a cross from Mandala's Mandala [HASHTAG]#1[/HASHTAG].

Or perhaps their Purple Paro Valley?

I only say that because these are the only Mandala strains that are said to be purple.
Reading the descriptions and looking at pictures,
maybe more like the Purple Paro Valley!! :D

Either way, I'm happy. They both look like awesome strains.
The Purple Paro Valley in particular would be good for here.
Sub-tropical high mountain sativa, can handle wind and rain.

Still a little more rain today. Should ease off later.

Pollination planned for Friday, which should be a sunny day, and all weekend!!!!
Will try to get some pollination photos for everyone. :D

Day 46 - Mandala Safari Mix

Since we're down to just two.

Female [HASHTAG]#1[/HASHTAG] - Indica Pheno
20170428 Mandala Safari + Pollen (1).jpg
20170428 Mandala Safari + Pollen (2).jpg

She's just 45cm = 18" tall. Single main bud.
Vertical growth almost stopped already.
But it's going to be very thick. And early.

Female [HASHTAG]#2[/HASHTAG] - Sativa / Hybrid Pheno
20170428 Mandala Safari + Pollen (3).jpg
20170428 Mandala Safari + Pollen (4).jpg

She's taller at 50+cm = 20" tall.
Somewhat more branched, longer laterals.
Less developed in flowering.
Has some more vertical and horizontal growth to go.

Male Pollen

And would have you photos of pollination itself, except.........

Phone died. Three times. No time to waste with dead phone.
Just pollinated two lower branches of each, and out of there.

Sorry about the no photos. Boys and girls doing their thing and all... ;-)

Will check on the autos later, at dusk.

Love and hugs,
MJS

Yesterday and last night never rained in the end.
Hope that full strength feed wasn't too much for them.
Supposed to have more rain today... sun's shining now though.
There has been less rain than usual, not a bad thing, cos it's super wet here.

Resisting to urge to go and check these twice a day, every day..... not easy, haha!
that would get me, not being able to hover around the grow

Celebrated by watching Green House Seeds Strain Hunters in India vid on youtube.

Hand rubbed charas. Now there's a thing!!! <3
Man havent been here in a while. The girls are looking great. You can store your pollen for later in the freezer. Just make sure to remove the flowers no moisture allowed . A little vial maybe with a grain of rice to absorb the moisture. You know for you next crop.

"carpe diem"

The pollen is in a small glass jar, in a file cabinet that keeps humidity at about 40%.
I'm still collecting right now. But once I'm finished, I'll add those little dessicant bags to the jar and lid it.
I'm hoping that I can pollinate the autos within a week.
In which case, the pollen should still be fresh.
I won't be saving any of this for future runs.
First, I think I'll end up with far more seeds than I can ever use.
Also, I'd rather use the Mandala photo x other auto crosses, and look for a male.
If the Sweet Seeds "fast version" is right, then the F1 will be fast photos.
Then I can cross an F1 male back into an auto female.
If the genetic understanding of autos is right, should lead to:
25% auto
50% fast (auto x photo)
25% photo

Day 50 - Mandala Safari

These two ladies have just been loving this sunny weather in the last few days.
I zipped in this morning, and gave them a little feed.
Some organic bloom NPK 3-5-4 pellets that have been soaking in water for a few days.

Really just a single bud-stick of a plant. Will be nice and solid.

Love how her pistils have that beautiful pink-purple color.
Looks slightly better in real life than this photo, color is stronger.
First time I've seen this on my own plants. Really happy!
Wondering if she'll show colors on her calyxes and leaves.

Mother nature decided to top her. Not the ideal time during flowering, but never mind.
Will help keep her bushy, which may be a good thing given her longer shape.
This one is going to be a late one. She's still growing out, doesn't look like slowing down much.

Love and hugs,
MJS
