Outdoor 6 x Mandala Safari Mix (Photo, Reg)

Goodness its a different world than i live in...monkeys! :D Ever get concerned about poisonous snakes or insects while tending to plants? GUerilla growers around here are likely to run into a bear or a wolf eventually. Few poisonous snakes though there is rattlesnakes.

Not really. I hike around in these mountains all the time.
Scariest thing on the planet, is ........... human beings!!

Though right now, next to these plants, is a freshly dug burrow of some kind.
There's maybe 50-100 liters of soil dug out of it.
I should show you all a photo.
Maybe it's a pangolin or weasel skunk critter.

Yesterday and last night never rained in the end.
Hope that full strength feed wasn't too much for them.
Supposed to have more rain today... sun's shining now though.
There has been less rain than usual, not a bad thing, cos it's super wet here.

Resisting to urge to go and check these twice a day, every day..... not easy, haha!

Day 39 - Mandala Safari

Checked on them this morning.
Gave them all some 1/2 strength AN Sensi Bloom AB, CaliMagic,
and sprinkled a small handful of slow release 15-15-15 around the base.
The slow release seems the best option in this kind of weather.

Male

He's up to 52cm = 20" tall now, has really shot up nice and tall, though skinny!

Female [HASHTAG]#1[/HASHTAG]

She's up to 37cm = 15", putting on a nice stretch.
Is more developed in her flowering than [HASHTAG]#2[/HASHTAG].

Female [HASHTAG]#2[/HASHTAG]

She's up to 40cm = 16", a good stretch, and more to come.
Is less developed in her flowering than [HASHTAG]#1[/HASHTAG].

I really need to give them a spray down with some neem oil.
There are bugs, and they are a bit nibbled. Not too bad, but would like to avoid.

What to do about that male?
Since they're in the ground, I can't pull him out of the space with the females.
Think I'll just cut him like a big clone, take him inside,
put him in water and place a sheet of paper (don't have any glass / mirror) under him.
The water will keep him alive at least, but not growing.
The size of the main cola is already plenty big enough for my needs.
Then collect the pollen, store, and pollinate my favorite ladies.

Day 42 - Mandala Safari

After maybe 70mm = 3" of rain over the weekend, they still look just fine!!

Male - Sativa pheno

20170423 Mandala Safari (2).jpg

He now stands at about 60cm = 24" tall.
Maybe today or tomorrow, I'm going to cut his top cola, and bring it inside.
Will put in a cup with water, and collect his pollen over a few days.

Female [HASHTAG]#1[/HASHTAG] - Indica pheno

She's up to about 40cm = 16" tall.
Almost stopped vertical growth.
She has a shape which looks a bit Afghani / hash plant like.
Will have just a single cola, but quite thick.
Should finish fairly fast by the look of it.
Crystals showing already.

Female [HASHTAG]#2[/HASHTAG] - Hybrid (Sativa) pheno

She's a bit over 40cm = 16" tall, too.
Still growing up, and branching much more.

This last shot is across the row.
Nearest is [HASHTAG]#2[/HASHTAG], then [HASHTAG]#1[/HASHTAG] behind, and further back tall skinny male.

Would like to spray with some neem, but they seem fine anyway.
Will try to get another feed of the CaliMagic and Sensi Bloom AB too.
Just finding the right time.
After last downpour want to avoid over watering.
So may wait a couple of days.

Love and hugs,
MJS

Collected a little pollen this morning.
About 5-6 sacks of bananas were open.
Cut them into a little glass jar,
which is in a low moisture file cabinet.

Have also sourced some cotton buds.
I used to use a small paint brush for pollination.
But these cotton buds will also be just fine.
Still rather cloudy today, showers for a few days.
But Friday and the weekend is supposed to be sunny.
So I think I'll pollinate female [HASHTAG]#1[/HASHTAG] and [HASHTAG]#2[/HASHTAG] on Friday.
Give them a couple of days to go to work.
Then natural rain will kill off any remainder.

Perfect!

I shall continue to collect more pollen,
because I also want to pollinate my autos.
But they'll need at least another week (or two?)
before the auto girls are ready for this male.

;-)
