Day 40.

I've supercropped 3 main stems and started guiding tops underneath the screen. The reservoir was topped up with an EC 1.9 solution @ pH 5.8. My tap water + Calcium and Magnesium was EC 1.4. Should I be feeding more NPK nutrients?

Now I’ve never scrogged an autoflower before but I’ve always subscribed to @Hansbricks idea that giving veg nutes longer with autos will help them to veg longer. Might give you some more time to fill the screen.

I think it just depends on each plant, i dont think "veg" nutes would really make a difference, i run megacrop which is 1 part. So dunno. But seems like luck of the draw for how quick a plant will start to flower.

There is a direct correlation between the nutrients and in certain proportions to one another can effect phenological traits in cannabis. That means that the type of nutrients given to a plant and how much of each will have an effect on phase shifting from veg to flower, as well as improving yield and quality.

That is why you are given feeding charts and are instructed to use the entire line, not just marketing, but they know if you use the nutes in the right way, you will grow better plants. Waiting for plants to go through the preflower stage before switching their nutes over is nothing new really. Autos are sensitive and require a smoother transition from veg to bloom nutes, that's all really. You can push the strain if you want to push for more yield. It works for sure.

Holy crap. I can image 10 plants at once would produce quite a jungle. Are they big strains?

Good advice! I've tried using seperate
veg and bloom nutrients, but also running just bloom nutrients. I've been using only bloom nutrients for the last 6 or so grows and don't notice a difference. I got the idea from @TaNg who devised an easy nutrients schedule with only AN bloom nutrients and AN overdrive that works really well. He grows monster plants.

That being said I've been adding slightly more coco A to my reservoir this grow; to promote more abundant growth. So far so good :)

This sounds quite logical. I suppose growing organically would allow a plant to reach its full potential because everything is available to it.

I do find it strange though that some nutrient lines have more Nitrogen in their bloom nutrients that their grow nutrients. If I can remember correctly one of the AN pH perfect lines had this.
