you could very well be right. but i actually noticed the opposite. i only planned on topping one and seeing what happened. they were both growing at the same rate but after i topped the first one it just took off. growing twice as fast with two main stems. they were the same size, i topped it, and a week and a half later it had two main stems each of which was 5 inches taller then the one stem my other had. so i went hmm thats awesome. so i topped the second and she took off too. growing twice as fast as before. she grew tall and fat. the first node even took off too. i definetly could be wrong. this is my first grow so im no expert but that was just my observation. i will however be starting four (the maximum im allowed to grow at a time) after these finish and i will definetly be testing that theory. topping the second tallest and the shortest and seeing how they react. maybe even topping the shortest twice so it has four main stems and see if it surpasses the single top. who knows maybe my next experience wont be as great. have been really lucky (so far that is) in that i have only had a gnat problem. crossing my fingers in hopes they finish. also thanks for the compliment.

no worries. no offense takin. this is my first grow so anything i am doing wrong i would definetly like to know. it took me a while but i finally found the video. this is how i topped my plants i just did plant one when it was really small and plant two a little after. when i did plant one it had two nodes and i hacked half the node off so i had to go down to the bottom one. was using a razor blade(some one recomended it not a very smart idea. scizzors are way better) but yeah this is how i did it

by the way your plant is looking redonculous. so sweeeet. may i ask what
nutes you are using.

as to this point i have only used potting soil and a tiny tiny bit of slow release tomato food. i have the fox farm trio on the way and i finally got my ph buffers yesterday. havent really been monitering the ph. every time i did it was 7.0 and since i didnt have any way to adjust it, it just made me mad.

At that time, I was using the same thing, FF Trio.
Yeah, the ph is the most important thing. For soil 6.3 to 6.6 is my preferred range.
I'm having trouble with my browser here lately and I'm no computer wiz either. I can't load any links. All I get is a page that says "Blank Page" so I can't see the vid. sorry.

i have only had a gnat problem.

Your gonna want to get rid of those nasty little buggers. It's not easy either. I bought this recommended stuff off E-bay I think, it's called "gnatoral"
It's a biological larvacide. It's not organic but it's the only thing that got completely rid of them. I fought with them things for 4 grows. Now I'm finally gnat free..
I bought a hole bottle of the stuff, so if you want some, I can mail u some free of charge. It only takes 1 watering with 2 teaspoons per gallon of water. No since you spending a bunch of money for it when all ya need is a little bit

What? Really? Thats freakin awesome that you would offer. I actually haven't seen any in a couple of days which is weird considering I have been killing 1-4 per day. The gnat and spider season is coming to an end. I just shake my plants a little bit so they start flying and then smash them. I have been using a thick layer of perlite to keep gnats from getting to the soil since my plants were seedlings. Im only like thirty days off give or take from harvest. Then the new batch is going in. Im gonna steam sanitize the soil and cover with sand or perlite. Again thanks for offering but unfortunatly I'll have to respectfully decline. Just offering makes you good in my books. +rep

Here, do yourself a favor and go to Home Depot and get these and place the glue traps on the soil around the plants. As they emerge from the soil, a lot of them will walk in the glue and there done. The strips will catch the ones that are flying around.

Since you got them indoors, your not going to get rid of them cause of the season. Their season is in your grow room. Those traps wont stop them but they will slow them down. When there are times you are not see them, that's when their larva is getting ready to hatch and a new batch of the little buggers comes out. If you ever decide you want the gnaterol, just pm me...

I will keep that in mind. Was actually thinking about putting a zap light in there. I will definetly pm you if they get out of control. Should that happen I would have to send you something in return. Like I always say, my appreciation is non negotiable. May your girls grow big and busty.

check it out heres an update from today. shes growing so big. so glad i topped her. she is now over a foot and a half on each side 18inches and 20inches for a whopping total of 3 feet 2 inches in 45 days give or take a day or two.
picture.jpg
yeah people keep telling me that if i hadnt topped her she would have grown bigger but i doubt she would have grown more than three feet in an eight inch pot. plus even if she would have i dont think my 90 watt led would have been enough light to reach the bottom. either way this is going to be a legendary first grow.
my other plants not looking as tall but is way bushier. just over ten inches on each side plus the 5 inches below the top with some really long side stems coming off her. i accidently dropped her last night. about four feet to the ground and she bouced off the wall. it didnt really phase her at all. suprised me. just scratched up one leaf. the worst part about it was the perlite on top of the soil got all over her. i tried spraying her down and using a q tip but that only went so far. im gonna have alot more perlite in the buds than anyone would want. its also causing alot of the lower leaves to dry out. I recon shes not going to grow very many low buds.
picture 2.jpg
i trimmed all of the big fan leaves out of the way of the nodes on both of them, so that light could get to the leaves directly where the buds are forming.

Cool looking plants infamousralphster! Very nice for your first try.

oh yeah. some of the white hairs are turning orange on my taller plant. sweet. i picked up a magnifying pen that magnafies x25 so i could see the trichs. but damn. u have to be right on the plant to get a clear view and i do not have a steady hand whatsoever. hmmm. i might build some sort of stand to lean against. i will be updating soon. i noticed that i have to up my watering schedule though. the pots have been getting really dry. so im going to switch from two waters per week to every other day. see how that goes. picture updates coming soon. the buds are starting to fill in nicely.

looks amazing infamous, id say topping was a success honestly cant wait to see more pics!
