Indoor 2lbs out of 4 autos? JayGeeCanuck's second grow. First AFN Journal

Its definitely the next step homie. I didnt monitor EC at all last grow, so this is new lol. At least gives some guide?
Sure bud-buddy.
First empty and clean your reservoir with a sponge and some dish soap, better organic soap but just a tiny amount wont harm and of course rinse it well with water a couple of times.

Fill with phed tap water and let your drip system work.... Check the runoff every 15/30 mins or so and dont forget to empty the tray after every runoff check.

Once runoff is at least 0.8, go for less of you have the time. Best would be get to background ec only as that means you cleaned all nutrient traces in the medium...

Refill your reservoir with nutes @ half strength. 1.0-1.2 ec the lower the better imo.

Check runoff every water and up / down the nute level accordingly.

If you hand water, its a good freakin time to buy a pump and some hoses.... Cuz shit takes hours and may break your back.

May the ganja gods be with you ;)

Reset the whole medium? Don't I just want to get it back in range?

From cocoforcannabis.com

"Flushing to Lower EC
To a certain extent, the run-off that we apply with each fertigation event is a small flush. However, there are times when that small amount may not be sufficient to maintain the EC within the acceptable range. If run-off EC is persistently more than 400 points higher than inflow EC despite frequent fertigation (multiple times per day) with 20% run-off, then you should consider flushing.

Process:

  • Use nutrient solution that is at half your normal Inflow EC
  • Apply twice the normal quantity of water
  • Wait ten minutes following the application
  • Add additional dilute nutrient solution to produce new run-off for measure
  • Test the EC of this new run-off, it should be at or below your normal target inflow EC
  • If the EC is still high, repeat this process at the next opportunity to fertigate"

I don't want to take all the nutes out do I?

I also have the AN flushing agent, but thats more for lockout or final flush.

You want to clean your medium. Only then a normal feed @ half stregnth. You dont need all those leftover salt buildups... So we clean... Then feed again lightly immediately!

When iwas a lot noober lol.. i flushed without feeding anything right after... In this case you can imagine what happened....

The half strength should lower it though? I'd feel bad giving plain water. Lol

I dont use these products so cant tell butbiys hard me to believe they should be used mid-flower...

All good with the plain water. You feed immediately after that. And half strength nutes for a couple of days wont harm, but you must monitor runoff and leaf condition as well... Anyway, regardless for how they lool now, the runoff ec is just bad and you def dont want any nute lockouts now cuz by the time you see the actual damage on the plant it might be irreversible. If runoff was +0.3 or so id say lower the nutes to half without flushing... But youre way too high in my opinion..

I was using the whole AN sensi grow line at full strength using their calculator. Everything was fine until I hit the bloom stage. Ended up with tip burn, a couple plants got rusty. Long story short, switched to 1/2 strength. Eliminated B52-it was adding too much of "something"- I forgot what. Add a little calmag. Everything seems to have calmed down and getting ready for harvest. I did do one good flush with ph water and some calmag. Switching to MediOne. IMHO, why get rid of those chemical meds only to grow my meds with a bunch of chemicals. Besides it's about half the cost.

Good info. Were you monitoring EC?

As a newbie I was checking it everyday and everything seemed fine. By the time I got into bloom I had slacked off and when issues started, I checked and it was all way too high. I guess if you want to keep nutes high, you need to be meticulous about checking everything every day so you can make adjustments before it's too late. I've pretty much decided to go the half strength route as others have said its easier to fix a deficiency then it is to fix over doing it. I'd rather chance a lower yield than a burned up dead crop.I'm sure you'll find a lot folks here doing 1/2 strength or less with some pretty impressive results.
