Indoor 2lbs out of 4 autos? JayGeeCanuck's second grow. First AFN Journal

Just doing a bit of reading and came across this little tidbit on Dinafem's website:

"As a general rule, you can apply the following formula:

EC of drained water – original EC = excess EC

Original EC – excess EC = EC value for the next watering

Example: EC of drained water 1.6 – original EC 1.2 = 0.4 excess → Original EC 1.2 – excess EC 0.4 = 0.8 (EC value for the next watering)
"

Cocoforcannabis says increase fertigation frequency or if not possible, volume, to keep EC in check.

The Dinafem method effectively focuses on controlling salt, whereas cocoforcannabis.com uses water as the equalizer. Coming at the same problem from the other end of the same spectrum.

Thought it was worth sharing with you comrades.

Yep. Don't get sucked into those YT videos "Everything You Need to Know About Growing Weed In 10 Minutes"

Well in theory it sounds nice but practicaly not so valid.. gotta check the freakin ec ;)

Its based on tracking EC. If you do it that way, you have to adjust EC of the nutes every fertigation (relative to the last). By that logic if I did an EC of 2.2 and got 2.5 for runoff, an inflow EC of 1.7 next time should be close to balancing it out.

Though i guess youd then have to tailor the EC to each plant... lol

Sticking to a set dose and increasing fertigation probably is easier overall. Still have to watch EC as you said.

Flushed this am. Inflow EC ~1.2. Outflow : 2.3-2.5 :redcard:

Getting better though..ill give it another go next fertigation. I also decided to switch the RO for the rest of the grow. Its just too hard, and puts me at a 0.4-0.5 EC before nutes...
They look good overall, except for the back left Dinamex. It's flowering is slow or something. Maybe lockout from the high EC? The others are on track.

I'll also use Dinafem's EC guide (below) as a rough guide. Using RO, even @ recommended dilution, i doubt Ill ever get an EC over 1.8. As for now, second week of flower they say 1.4-1.5 EC.

You using the hydroponic or soil for ec?

Runoff EC is back down to 1500-1800.
Inflow now will be 1400 or so. Works out to roughly 3/4 strength of the base nutes. Ill use BigBud to slowly increase EC ( as per the Dinafem guide).

Oddly enough, the PH of the nutes in RO water has been quite low. Not sure what's up with that? It was 'ph perfect' with tap water but low 5s without any ph up ( which i have never used until now). Runoff PH was the same as inflow.
