A new thread for a new year, not that a new thread is needed, but for journal purposes and continual advancement of idea's, skills, and hunting of genetics we will now start off this thread, feel free to join in.
Setup: I run two PC cases
Bogan the black case is a Corsair 330R and it runs around 0.85sq/ft, its powered by 4 Bridgelux V15 arrays with a 5000k color and are running at 0.35a and are connected to cpu heatsinks, total case wattage is 65w
Ashla the white case is a antec P280 and runs just under 1.0sq/ft, its powered by 2 Bridgelux v18 arrays with a 5000k color and they run at 0.7a each and are connected to eBay heatsinks, total case wattage is 66w
Both boxes are controlled by an Arduino, it controls the lights, the fan speeds of the small circulation fan and 120mm carbon filter fan for quieter operation on lights off, it also displays humidity and temp on a LCD, its also controls my automatic watering system that uses a home made soil sensor, coupled to a 12v valve that connected to a 12L Reservoir, the stock PC power button is wired out to check the soil sensor and display its reading on the LCD when it held down for longer than 2 secs, and the reset button acts a bypass button to trigger a watering event so long as it's held down, But it runs automatically on setpoints thats are loaded onto the arduino and are easily changed with just a simple code upload over a USB cable.
Grow Setup:
I run soil-less media composed of Coco coir and Perlite, with 1-2 Tbsp of dolomite lime mixed in per 4L of mix, in a bottom feed setup no waste setup with fabric pots.
I run Hydro nutrients typically MaxiBloom and MaxiGro, mixed with very low PPM tap water, also i don't pH my water, that's what the dolomite lime is for.
To keep things running somewhat sterile i add bleach roughly once a week at a concentration of 4ppm in the nutrient water, without it algae blooms, root rot and pythium can occur if im not diligent.
I run autos, and photoperiods, just depends on what i'm doing at the time.
Future plans: I'm planning to run more autos and also continue my journey with hunting for strains that work well for me, the eventual winners will have seeds made of them whether selfed feminized, or crossed out for more interesting possibilities.
Here are some pics of the PC cases updates will come at least once a week.
Edit: Created some albums of my past grows from 2016 here are the links if intrested
