New Grower 1st hydro grow

And they are off! Nice! I would start the DWC at about 1/8 recommended strength, and build weekly in small increments during the weekly water change. There will be no need for a top off tank for a couple weeks, as she will hardly drink as a tiny seedling.

i was going to go 1 week plain water then 1/8 1 week then 1/4 by the time she starts drinking shell be in the stretch/flower then ill hookup her res and control bucket

In DWC, I always started with a significantly weakened nutrient mix to start, then only increase 10% weekly, until the plant tells you they are in the sweet spot. From there, I don’t adjust until flower nutes. I was told early on that this was one difference between soil and water grows, but there are many ways to peel an orange!

I grow with a RDWC and i didn't start feeding till she started her first serrated leaf because the seed has enough nutrients to get her to that point on straight water.

And with nutrients i always start with 25% recommended strength especially if you use bubbles.

When i put my germinated seed into the rockwool i start running my system and with the bubblers popping water on the underside of the basket it will wick it way into the rockwool you shouldn't need to water her from the top. The root will follow the moisture to the water.

Good harvest to ya fellow Hydrower :toke:

i guess im nervous that shell have too much water if i throw water in it

I keep my water level at the bottom of the net pot and there is about 2"-3" of hydrotron the rockwool sits on, so my rockwool is never in direct contact with the water. You could put a dome over your seed till she pokes through. They do like the higher humidity when they are young.

I do keep my water level at net pot level, but i totally forgot i used a 4" halo drip that kept my hydrotons moist. My bad, I blame this on too many Amber Trichome, so disregard the 2" wicking concept because it's not verified.

you have to use a pump dont you to so a drip. i just dont want another electrical thing up there lol.
checked rockwool today still damp i gave it a couple sprays from my bottle. when i get home from work at 5pm ill give her a dose of 2oz water.
i have a little over 3 gallons of rowater in her which just touches the bottom of the pot. rockwool is about halfway in the net pot. ph set to 5.7 and lights are on 24/7. i can see the shell pushing through the cube im hoping in the next ten hours she pushes through. taproot is still in rockwool cube and is about 1.5inches in length. i am doing my best to not drown her 20200506_082356.jpg20200506_082353.jpg

Hey JT, I am just confirming since you mentioned you didn’t want another electrical item in your tent. You do have a pump for air stones in the water, right?
