I see you finally got the roots down into the water after 19 days. Normal time frame with top feed is 3 or 4 days. You have built a parabolic mirror around your plant so you will burn the leaves with the light. Every point of light focused on the leaves is concentrated. Foil is a bad thing to use and a small amount of light getting in to the reservoir is less dangerous than frying the top with foil. Use a thin piece of Styrofoam board over the top of the foil. The white color will reflect the light without concentrating it.

I am glad you hung in there.

Ps Where does the idea to use pondzyme come from. I personally would not use it.

i ised pondzyme on my only grow 5 years ago i had rot issues and it cleared it up. this sunday im framing and building a toom in my basement which will be easier to control temps so i wont need it. i will try to find a styrofoam board laying around.

Thats a much better pic, JT. I am glad you are sticking it out with the plant. She is definitely growing, but is a funky looking thing. I have seen where plants stressed early in life and recover turn out to be some of the most amazing smokes. Shoot, some folks even purposefully stress them out to try and recreate this effect.

The small internodal spacing is probably due to the light being a bit too close. I am not sure where they are now, but you may want to back it up a couple inches so the plant can stretch a bit more. I really think she will grow more traditionally when the roots are established in the nutrient rich water.

I am tagging a DWC master, @Mr Green Fingers , so he can chime in!

That foil will cause hot spots, fill the net pot as much as you can with stones as light really is the number 1 enemy in DWC but your roots do look good, sorry I havent read through the whole thread but my guess is your PH has been fluctuating which has been causing lockout but you seem to be on top of it as the last pics she seems alot better, just try to find the feeding sweet spot and your PH will stay stable :smoking:

You can spray paint the whole bucket but make sure you get the correct one which bonds to plastic and you probably need to scuff the surface a bit but I've never tried so not sure, the other option is if that's a standard sized bucket you could but a white one to double them up so it's dark on the inside and then the white on the outside reflects the light as that's what mine are and they work well

Trying to find a good pic but cant really find one and its lights out atm but hopefully you can see from this that the buckets are doubled up, black on the inside and white on the outside, same with the lids.

does she look bigger i know im behind due to stress just doesnt look any bigger
ph reset to 5.6 climbed to 6.3. ec is still 0.9. tent got hot today 81f so dwc rez was 76f. tomorrow im building a 4ftx4ft closet in the basement which ill move the tent airpump and gear in there. basement holds temp at around77f and i can exhaust out the dryer vent shoild be better at keeping temps in check. n anyone have tips to keep the airpump cool. its hot to the touch and is blowing hot air down the line to airstonea

do u guys think i should keep pushing it doesnt look any bigger to me rootwise or plant wise. or should i scrap clean and restart.
i got new airstones and valves. ph started at 5.6 at 7am yesterday. raised to 6.5 tonight so i reset to 5.6ph. ec is holding at 1.0. i have wettable mykos coming tonight from extreme gardens i was gonna throw 2 tsp in and see if it helped roots. ineed suggestions
