Hi guys I have finally got around to setting up my first grow! I am very limited in space and using a Secret Jadin Dark Room Propagator DP90 put on its side, this only gives me 90 x 60 x 60cm!

I have chose the strain Dr. Feelgood by Stitch as it supposedly only grows to around 50cms. Tomorrow will be day 12 of my grow ( I think ) since I germinated using the paper towel method.

I have been using a 125w CFL with a 20/4 light schedule and potted in some nice organic soil from a local hydro shop! Using a couple of PC fans at the moment for airflow but ive just received a proper extractor fan and carbon filter that I will be putting to use when I get a fan speed controller as it makes a right racket! (defiantly not 14db as advertised! :finger:) Not used any nutes yet.

Adding some pictures below of how its going. Day : 1, 3, 4, 6, 8, 9, and two of day 11 respectively!

Let me know what you think, cheers! :D

Looking good! You're going to get way more light out of that cfl if you turn it horizontal. With the way you have it now most of the lumens are being cast away from the plant and not down at it. If you can get or fashion some kind of reflector for that lamp you'd get even more than that. Never underestimate how important good ventilation is. It's dire that you get that extractor fan set up and running asap. Welcome to growing, a new sickness you'll never get rid of :smokeit::peace:

Cheers Mr Piggy! I want to hang the light horizontally but im not sure how to go about it, do you think just holding one end up with string would be okay or would it damage the light bulb or burn? I will probably end up buying one of those reflectors like you mentioned when I have the money so I can hang it from the top but they are pretty pricey for what they are. I also hoped to get the extractor up and running well before now but I ran into a few problems getting hold of it and now I have it sounds like a bloody jet engine!

Thanks for the feedback and your right im already obsessing over my little lady! :hump:

I've seen people loop a wire through one of the U ends, but I'm highly against that. A broken cfl is a toxic nightmare and a wasted grow. You can fashion a reflector out of a piece of sheet metal. Even just having one of those cheap home depot bowl reflectors is better than nothing.

Here's a link where a member went apeshit diying himself a cfl reflector. It's elaborate, but it gives you a good idea about them.

Aluminum flashing works great for fashioning reflectors. It pretty easy to bend and shape. That's what I used to make these for the CFLs in my veg area. I used some double faced tape to attach small pieces of mylar to the bottom side for even better reflectivity.

Cheers for the advise guys, ive hopefully got a bit of spare time on my hands now so im going to have to get to work on sorting it out. I've got my extractor fan in and set up now too and I thought I got a slight smell when I went to check on her just, is now about the right time for her to start getting a bit stinky?

Also should I be thinking about purchasing/ adding some nutes any time soon? Can anyone point me in the right direction for what I should be looking at buying?

Ive attached a picture to let you see her progress. She seems to be doing well but I have noticed some very very slight curling on the sides of some of her leaves, I thought I must have had the light too close so moved it away a bit. If anyone can shine some light on this it would be great. :D

Got a bit worried earlier, does anyone think this looks like pollen sacks forming? Hope shes not hermi  Also the cheap fan speed controller makes a loud buzzing noise when its being used, does anyone know if there's a fix for this? Thanks guys!

Quick update, day 17. Got some biobizz nutes on the way too.

I am also growing this strain and it is my first autoflower grow I am very curious to see how our Plants compare mine is around 13 days old and the leaves are very fat I'll post pics later
