top 2 inches of the pot were surprisingly dry today so it was tine to feed

- 3rd feed GH TRIO
- 2.5ml micro
- 2.5ml gro
- 1ml bloom
- 1ml ph down

- ph @6.40 (yellow pen)
- ph around 6.0-6.5 (vial test)
- ph around 7 (paper strips)

- each plant got about 500ml each

decided not to water until run off after reading @TaNg journal! he has a very detailed journal w/ amount of water per feeding.

feeding gradually increases from seedling @50ml every 2 days / dry on top during early stage and upto 1L per day / when dry.

the most water given in a 15L pot was about 1L.

read somewhere that we shoukd be watering @10-20% run off everytime..

also read that we shoukd be alternating feed-water-feed to prevent salt/chemical build up..

so much info.. so much to learn! how are you guys watering your plants?

How do I water? Since I’m in ProMix, I water & feed 1L daily per pot. I don’t water to runoff but plan on doing a flush when flowering kicks in, followed by 1L of water with Nutes to replenish what I flushed. Not sure how this is going to work for me but we shall see!

Nice journal and plants! I'm a long time outdoor grower and I'm just finishing-up my first ever indoor auto grow and without a doubt, knowing when and how much to water is a big key to success. Keeping with the KISS principle, I actually lift each plant each morning and make a judgement call on whether or not to water each plant and how much water to give them (light, regular or heavy). I'm growing six different strains and they all consume water at different rates. I've found this method to be the simplest and best to keep everything properly hydrated without over-watering. My other recommendations are to keep reading to absorb everything you can and to journal your grow in great detail. Keep up the fine work!

thank you and welcome @Bestbud ! ive been trying the lifting method but im still not sure so its just been the top 2 inches check for me. ill still be lifting so i can start to get a feel of the weight difference especially when water uptake increases. i have a lot to learn so im definitely absorbing what i can and when i can

im in for the ride! ive been reading about flushing VS not flushing and im still 50/50.. atleast i have ways to go before i make a decision :smoking:

- decided to cut down on the water source. hoping to feed/water more to slowly increase nutrient intakes. will increase water when necessary.

after reading led/cob and cal mag problems.. i decided that i will add cal mag to the next feeding during week 3+ and so on.

im not sure about pk 13/14 just yet but i also picked some up just in case. feel free to let me know how you used this product!

- a couple times throughout flower stage

after 1 week nute test (pre mixed - in bottle) ph levels stayed in good soil range (6.2-6.8). started in 6.42 on day 1 and 6.69 day 7.

i guess the next test is to see if it damages any plant when being fed pre mix nutes? not sure if it would..
- gh site says that 1 week is safe to pre mix
- after the 1 week test ph stayed in the good feeding range
- any negative to saving pre mix nutes?

Thanks for the welcome. Trying filling an empty pot of the same size with the same medium and use that as a weight comparison. You’d be amazed how little you’ll water at this stage and how much you’ll water at later stages. Great farming.

no idea if its actual 100w (doubt it) but at the very least i can add this a side/back as extra lights?

@thedailydose. Don't use it. GH Bloom is already all PK just up the Bloom ratio, even though you've bought it I'd suggest you not use it it will just muddy the waters.

The GH Flora series have everything you need already in them, including C and Mg. As for pH best to gradually transition to the drops for ease, accuracy and peace of mind. However it's good to use a calibrated meter with the drops for a few months till you are comfortable with the tints. The colours indicated on the label are not accurate enough you need to work it out yourself. Strips are useless.

Fortunately the indicator solution is most accurate between 5.8 and 6.3 exactly what we want. Basically you want to keep the indicator drops at a nice neutral pale yellow, 6pH and you'll be good. Very slightly greenish tint = 6.2 a very slightly warmish tint = 5.8. The pen will drive you crazy.
