- ph around 6.0 (paper strips)

after 24 hrs (in darkness)

after 48 hrs (in darkness) 4/16/19

- ph @6.58 (yellow pen)
- ph around 6.5 (vial test)
- ph around 6 (papet strips)

ph level seems to be holding up with some variations but still in good ph for soil feeding. anyone running gh trio with small grow might benefit by saving th water/nute mix for daily feeding?

i think i prefer the fresh gallon mix.. but we shall see what happens if i decide to take the solo/L grow route.

as i sometimes mix up a 250ml batch of nutes i got some of these
nute dropper bottles.JPG

most of them have 0.1ml increments,a full squirt with any is 0.5ml
my tap water is about 7.4ph after 24/48hr it drifts up to maybe 7.8ph add some nutes and it drops :coffee:
ph dont have to be perfect, just within range :smoking:
:pighug:

@archie gemmill are those just medicine bottles with eye droppers? do the droppers come with label or did you have to buy them separate? a smaller container would be perfect for me! im over here transferring very little liquid from very big containers lol. this or some syringes would make it that much easier.. but for now i have the basic pippettes and measuring medicine cups.

do you always use pre mix nutes? if so.. how long do you usually keep them around for?

my water is around 7.8-8ph.
its been dropping to around 7-7.5ph with the latest nutes mix.
1ml ph down top of that drops me to the optimum range of around 6.2-6.5ph (6.0-6.8ph being min/max ph levels)

i never pre mix or leave nutes over for the next day :shrug:never have.i just leave the 2x5L jars of water sit for 24/48 hrs to let the chlorine evaporate.and use old nutes bottles to mix up the days feeds.
i might have 3 plants in the cupboard a 2 week old a 5 week old and a 8 week old plant.i like to start a new plant every 3rd monday or 21 days whichever is soonest :eyebrows:
2 week gets 250ml the 5 week 750-1L and the 8 weeker 1-1.5L
i wouldnt remember what bottle was for what plant,id only get curfuddled and feed a 2 week old a heavy flower nutes and make a hash of things.a clean slate each day,and if i get interupted when mixing nutes, chuck them and start again.
yep just empty eye dropper bottles from a well known auction site 30ml upto 120ml i think.i got some green ones for tinctures
IMG_5552.JPG

just having a look on ebay and now i cant find the bottles with the incremented pippete/droppers.
i found with all the sizes of bottles the dropper was the same, well a different lenght but a squeeze with finger n thumb = 0.5ml .so if im mixing up 500ml feed for a week 6 plant its something like 1 squirt of cal/mag 3 squirts fish mix 1 squirt bloom 1 squirt top max 2 squirts alg a mic shake throw at plant :eyebrows:
:pighug:

i found the bottles with labeled droppers! definitely need to add this to the shopping list. if anyone is interested here is the link:

------

top 2 inches of the pot were surprisingly dry today so it was tine to feed

- 3rd feed GH TRIO
- 2.5ml micro
- 2.5ml gro
- 1ml bloom
- 1ml ph down

- ph @6.40 (yellow pen)
- ph around 6.0-6.5 (vial test)
- ph around 7 (paper strips)

- each plant got about 500ml each

-----

decided not to water until run off after reading @TaNg journal! he has a very detailed journal w/ amount of water per feeding.

feeding gradually increases from seedling @50ml every 2 days / dry on top during early stage and upto 1L per day / when dry.

the most water given in a 15L pot was about 1L.

-----

read somewhere that we shoukd be watering @10-20% run off everytime..

also read that we shoukd be alternating feed-water-feed to prevent salt/chemical build up..

so much info.. so much to learn! how are you guys watering your plants?

Nice journal and plants! I'm a long time outdoor grower and I'm just finishing-up my first ever indoor auto grow and without a doubt, knowing when and how much to water is a big key to success. Keeping with the KISS principle, I actually lift each plant each morning and make a judgement call on whether or not to water each plant and how much water to give them (light, regular or heavy). I'm growing six different strains and they all consume water at different rates. I've found this method to be the simplest and best to keep everything properly hydrated without over-watering. My other recommendations are to keep reading to absorb everything you can and to journal your grow in great detail. Keep up the fine work!
