Hope all my fellow growers are enjoying this extra stretch of summer we are having here in the states.
I'm new to autos, but have been researching for the last 6 months and figured I'd give a go at it. I have been straight photo/guerrilla grow, with a few indoors with friends, for almost 20 years but just moved to a medicinal state (the state a left looked like we had a shot but now.....not so much) so figured I'd try and indoor/auto grow. And low and behold, my wife is jumping in on this also (her first grow EVER)!

I have experience in hydro, so I decided to go that route because I've always had bigger yields with hydro. I started off with 2 1000 watt HID cool tube hoods and magnetic ballasts running Hortilux Eye MHS and switching to HPS once they start maturing. I'm in a 4x8 tent, with A/C (temps right around 75 degrees with a RH of 60%). Using a Root Spa 16 bucket system and maintains res temps around 72 degrees (watching for root rot and have hydro guard on stand by....just in case). 400 cfm inline exhaust with a carbon filter, two 240 cfm fans for my hoods (one drawing in cool air, the other exhausting the hot air), a humidifier, and two oscillating fans.

We're running a Hydrfarm RO 200 for all my water and storing it in a 55 gallon res (filling it the day before I use it). Running 0ppms for the water. I'll be running the complete PH Perfect line from Advanced Nutrients (most additives also).

We are orunning some Mephesto Genetics SODK, Sweet Seeds Red Poison and Black Creme, CBD Crew Med Gom 1.0, and a Nirvana Swiss Cheese, all at various ages.

The only issue we had is I didn't scrub our 55 gallon res before we stored water in it and caused our girls to lock out to avoid the harmful chemicals in the silicone used to seal the barrel. Once that was remedied, they took off.

So, sub in and see if we can pull off our first auto grow!

Cheers!

Hey!
Looking really great!! I am sure you will succeed!
Have a :slap: for such a great start and starting this journal. I just started dabbling in hydro so it will be cool to watch you guys grow this out. To me the thing to remember about autos os they are on their own schedule and life happens quickly for them. This tends to make them sensitive to environment and nutrients and therefore less forgiving. From the looks of things you'll have nothing to worry about!

I know zip about hydro but all that fancy hydro talk makes this sound too cool to miss :) welcome to the site sarge and the dutchess.. heres hoping u smash this grow outta the park
Thanks, man!

We've grown some outdoor monsters, but all this is kinda new to us with indoor. Have some experience, enough to be dangerous ;)

View attachment 485979 I'm game for some water activities.........good luck mate!
Greta!

We will be giving a nutes report and PH report here in a few hours. I'll show the journals we keep yo keep things straight. It'll help us know what characteristics for each strain we have to look for (example: Red Poison is a cal/mag eater).

And, I agree....from what I've read. What hydro grows I have participated in, I feel it gives you full control of her environment. I mean, you're already controlling the "sun", why not the earth as well. ;)
