Old Reviews Coast of Maine Stonington Blend

Man all the above pics looks great. I’m hanging out at about day 35 and things are looking good so far. Topped 3/4 of the plants (Strawberry Nuggets in the front left seems like a runt but just letting her grow anyways, didn’t top or lst that one though). Pic below.

This is my first time in 5 gallon pots vs. 3 gallon, but man do these pots stay wet! I’ve gone roughly 5ish days between watering whereas on 3gallon, with FFOF, I was watering every 2-3 days. Not sure if it’s the soil or pot size (or both) but it’s kind of nice being more “hands off.”

I just watered with water collected from a rain barrel for the first time, too. The PPM was about 30, the Ph was about 7.0, so I just gave it a shot using that rather than adjusting my tap Ph levels. Not sure if this is a good or bad thing but all about experimenting!

Next watering will be about the week 5-6 timeframe so will be doing my 2nd feed at next watering.

P.S. i have been using the Photone app with full spec led unlocked on Iphone 11 the DG i ran 42 DLI at the pot by the start of week 3 my lighting has not been the same. trying to find the ideal spot i had lighting issues of all it :wall::rofl:

Same - that’s one other variable I’ve been changing here too. I ran my lights on 2 prior grows at 100% from early flower-harvest, and realizing I think that may have been way too much and contributed to some of the issues I was having.

Well Folks that's all she wrote for this one Mephisto Double grape 80 Days above ground CoM soil water only with a little calmag added at the end. Harvested today at lights on 4/28/22. Trichome pictures were from yesterday. mostly cloudy with some amber in spots. 90% of hairs have turned and she didn't seem to be getting any fatter. so :tang::woohoo1:

Excellent work on the Double Grape, she is a lovely plant. Those trichomes are frosty, looks like your on to something.

I’ve been eyeing that one. Couldn’t decide between the CDLC and the Grape. Went with the CDLC, my GF can’t sleep with out a nice dose on couch lock material.

Picked up the Moth Man freebies in the process, just popped a Fastbuds blackberry and night queen. Already dreaming of the CDLC and Blackstrap plants I have scheduled for the next grow, in late July.

I may have a problem, this is a addictive hobby!

I may have to look further into their soil mix. I purchased their Lobster compost and it looks and smells like a great product.
I doubt if I'll use any of their other products though. I have that covered.

Thanks for the rep friends. I have yet to check my garden today, and I will after posting this, but hopefully my plants have sprouted. Either way they should be above ground within the next couple days. Also would like to add, the dry amendments definitely smell   . I have never used dry amendments before, so it was a real treat walking into my grow room yesterday to the potent smell of what I can only describe as hamster food with a fishy twist.

Just searched this thread to see if anyone else had commented on this. Same here - first time using dry amendments (used FF Trio prior 2 grows). I had used the "organic plant food" a month or so ago, and while that didn't smell the greatest it was no big deal.

Last night, used the Fish Bone Meal for the first time and gave a good watering. Walked in the room this morning (mind you, plants are in a tent, carbon filter, whole deal) and my god smell is not pleasant at all and permeates the whole room. Wife said she can somewhat smell it downstairs (which she never can smell anything from smoke to flowering plants etc. upstairs usually) so yeah, I'm hoping the smell reduces over next couple of days!!

Pic for attention :smoking:

I didn't really have much of a smell issue from the fishbone meal, and I think it's cause of the way I fed my plants. I personally always thought the "scratch it into the soil" instructions for dry amendments is kind of tough, due to the root system.
So I keep a bucket with a lid of fresh soil and a scoop outside my tent. After I spread my dry nutes, I throw a scoop or two of fresh soil over top.

Just mix up your dry nutes with some compost and apply on top and water that in. I sorta do the same thing with my FFJ nutes in my EarthBox grows. I make a wet slurry and apply it to the compost mound there already. I usually sprinkle a little bokashi on top of that to help get it available a little quicker.

wk 11. got some amber! The fade has started.
Have slight foxtailing on two, and the third got it pretty heavy.
I like that top heavy sway their making from the fan.

Bad finger and Wild Bill are correct, mix up some soil or EWC and place on top or mix into your dry nutes. Will help knock the smell down. Plants look great!

Hey there!

I'm new to growing, so any advice is greatly appreciated!

Currently I have two Meph freebie’s in a 5 gal fabric pot with CoM soil(w/ 20% perlite added) on the bottom and biobizz light mix on top. I have one plant on day 10 and the other on day 7.
Watering with distilled water(using a home distillation machine) pH ~6.7. Led lights DLI-17(older plant) and 12-13(younger plant). Temp 70, rh ~65, last I checked my VPD was in the targeted range.

To combat the gnats people mentioned for the second watering(after transplant from red solo’s) I used the mosquito nibs and allowed them to sit in the water for 30-45 mins andhave used that to water them, with no I’ll effects to note. I can’t wait for week 3, so I can give them their first STPF amendment, super sometimes for this actually!

I would like thank everyone in this thread that’s posted and shared their experience!
