New Grower Hope She's Gentle. It's My First Time! - Think Different

Yes, Like "The Cannonball Run" meets "Up In Smoke"...:)

Crazy! Can you imagine the bud growing knowledge that would be present?! The BUDS that would be present??!! Cray! Zee!

Also enjoying some fruits of my labors. It feels very good knowing gram for gram what went into this "AFN smoke out"

That's what I'm going to enjoy most; knowing EXACTLY what went in to, from seed to smoke, the bud I will be consuming

Yall don't forget me ill roll up some Ryder. stuff is fantastic! "AFN smoke out"

Join the party, B! I've been wanting to sample that Ryder. Let me hit that, bro!
I'm sure curing is gonna be rough! Bud just sitting there, calling my name, and I gotta play Mr. Johnny B. Good, and leave it alone. Yeah, that's gonna take some serious will power

Day 40
10 gal. flush
PH of water: 6.3
PH of soil: 6.3
PH of solution (Take Root and Multi Total: 1ml, Grow A&B: 1 ml, CalMag: 2 ml total): 6.4
PH of runoff: After Flush: 7.1 After solution: 7.3
Wzup, AFN ganja growers and connoisseurs? Hope everything is all good for all y'all out there. Today I did, or attempted to do, a little damage control. Nothing too drastic, though. I flushed her with about 10 gal of pure water PH'd at 6.3, over the course of about an hour and a half. Figured nice and slow would be better for some reason. After I was finally done, I checked the soil PH, and it read 6.3. Same as the PH of the water. Cool. The last bit of runoff, on the other hand, had a nice and high PH of 7.1 Shit still annoys me, but I'm past the panicking and all that, so, onward we go...
About an hour later, I whipped up 2 liters of nute solution with 1ml of both Take Root and Multi Total per liter, 1.5 ml of both Grow A&B per liter, and 2 ml of CalMag total. The solution was PH'd at 6.4. Didn't get all the solution in before I started getting runoff, and the amount I got, it looks like everything I put in, came out the bottom with an even higher PH than before. 7.3
After finally getting done with all that, I happened to notice that my co2 line had come out of the back of my fan (derp!), and was lying uselessly on the floor. Hmmmm, I wonder how long I just been a-waisting my good ol' co2 for?
Anyhow, I'm hoping the flush had some purpose, and to be honest, I feel it did, but regardless, me an my girl continue to soldier on. As always, folks, if ya got any advice, or constructive criticisms, I'm all ears. Stay cool, and be eazy

Hey Bandit!!

Silly question, but how sure are you of your pH testing equipment?? Just wondering, because my pH pen did something very similar to this before I whipped out the drops to verify, and no matter how many times I zeroized the pen, it kept reading off in the 5.0-6.0 range (of course, the most important) and it kept going super-super low..

Do you have another way to verify the pH results just to be sure??

I'm confident that my Hannah PH meter is pretty close to being spot on because I check it to make sure it is calibrated, just about every other time I use it. Other than that, I have no other way to test my solution PH. I test my soil with an A8 and those are very reliable, so I think that my equipment is giving me correct info. I do gotta admit, though, sometimes I doubt the accuracy of my Hannah, but if it's giving me on-the-dot numbers when I check it for calibration, it is what it is

Many things switch from unidentified to solidly identified when you do a giant flush like that....it was useful. you've lost a little of the finite growing potential but what you gained is way more valuable as it relates to known conditions of things. To my mind, the run off testing high is either an anomaly or proof that the flush was needed...:)

I have no idea why it would test high after the subsequent ph'd feed though...

That constantly high runoff pH has been confounding the shit outta me, but I'm at the point where I don't let it bother me as much as it used to. It still irks me, but not to the point where I'm stressing and freaking out about it. Just gonna do my best to finish this grow on the highest note possible, and go into the next one using this experience as a means to produce better results. We gotta live and learn, and I'm learning that I have a lot more to learn.

That was the problem with mine.. I used both a 4.01 and a 7.0 calibration solutions and both checked out fine until I actually tried testing something and the numbers would be off by as much as 1.0-1.5 (estimated by color matching).. Not saying this is the case with ypur tester but if you can afford it, see if you can get a basic test kit like a pool pH test kit or something reliable; doesn't necessarily have to be dead-accurate, just relatively close.. Also, your greenery still looks pretty good!!

Thanks for the karma, Dazed. That was one of the best "get blazed to" movies of all time, by the way!

Thanks for making me aware of that. I think I will look into picking up a backup tester
