Maybe. But it's way easier to check the switch then check the fan. So check the switch 1st. I'm not good at electrical stuff, but I'll do fans, switches, and ceiling lights on my own

With the way this landlord wants to be involved in fixing anything that goes wrong and since the previous tenants majorly vandalized the place it wouldn’t surprise me if he replaced the fans himself….and did a shoddy job! Either way it will be way too hot in here trying to run my tent without a ceiling fan!

There's a chance it might be super simple to fix and your can keep him out. There's only 2 or 3 wires at the switch and the fan most likely. Anything not real obvious Id call an electrician and pay them to tell me how easy it is. I cut the power to the whole house to change out a switch

This house is cursed when it comes to me growing! Out if nowhere i hear a pop and see sparks shoot out of my ceiling fan and the breaker blew! Unplugged my tent and my ac and nothing so finally turned the fan switch off and good to go so obviously something has to be done to remedy that problem but can’t do it with a giant tent filled with plants in my room so guessing fate wants me to chop these things down!
