More excited about this than a full size Drake’s coffee cake
This is one of those moments where a highdea comes to life…… I present to you the direct to soil basement raised bed 2x2 tent
Beneath the stone in my basement is actually pretty nice soil
I built a 24”x24”x24”cedar box with a flat rim(I ended up stapling those plastic flaps up to reduce root obstruction)
after hoeing the native soil I filled the cedar box with 20 gallons of garden soil, 6 cuft of organic raised bed mix, 3 cuft of seafood compost and 2cuft of composted cow manure. All were blended and amended with azomite, Stonington blend plant food, bat guano, garden lime, and fish bone meal. All organic materials
I built the tent and placed it onto the raised bed, then stapled the perimeter of the bottom panel onto the cedar rim with t50 staples.
I then cut out the center of the bottom panel to access the soil, leaving about an inch of material overhanging the wood rim on all sides
Before planting the seed I added dynomyco
Then I put a small amount of seedling starter down and planted into that
Thanks @Marshydro too because I got the tent during one of their many killer sales (33$
) and it made chopping up a brand new tent seem more sensible
