Grow Mediums Bucket size

Hey guys and gals. New to the site

Pretty new to DWC but I’m off and running with my first set up and doing well, so far. Using an 8gal bucket.

As I find more success I think I would like to build a few more buckets. What’s the consensus on 5gal vs 8gal vs 13gal? The 8gal jobber I currently have seems to work well because it has a separate area on top that opens without disturbing the plant and basket portion.

Is there an advantage to using 5gal?

The current 8gal I’m using is from PA hydro called their big bubbler bucket.

The bigger the better as far as stability goes. I've used five gallon buckets, you have to adjust pH all the time and once the roots get big there is little room left for solution. Having multiple containers connected is also nice as you can mix stuff into the second container and not worry about upsetting the roots.
