Day 19 and first pruning. I have used several manifold training styles and I think Nebula Haze's style is the fastest with good yields so that is the one I am using with these girls. Top at 3rd node and remove all growth below that in this pruning. It always seems so radical to me at first but the plants just love it. I do pruning like this at lights out so the plants have some nighttime to recover from the shock. Only the back Blue Brilliant is getting this training the front one is not healthy enough for this method of training. I will just scrog her.

Time for the weekly update Day 28 for the girls. The plant in the rear is coming along nicely while the front one continues to look like a different pheno and seems a little stunted by whatever problem it had in the beginning. It looks a little better now.

Something wrong with my math on the previous post?

Well here we are at day 29 for the girls. The rear Blue brilliants is doing well and received her second training prune this morning. She is exhibiting beautiful indica traits with big broad leaves and short internode lengths. The plant has been trimmed to stimulate 8 main colas. I am using Nebula Haze's manifold training method. The front girl is doing better but overall not as good as the rear plant. Hope she can overcome her troubled start. The SCROG net will be installed soon to assist in holding the plants upright since the tops can easily outweigh the Hugo blocks.

Day 33 for the girls. I have added the scrog net for support; I do not intend on scroging but some will naturally take place as I spread out the branches. The difference in the Phenotypes is more apparent now as the front girl looks more sativa. I think she has turned the corner on whatever was ailing her; the new growth looks healthy. I bought these Fiskar long handled grass shears to see if I could reach the back of my garden to defoliate. It looks like they will work ok as long as I go slow. The head rotates changing the angle of approach. It will be easy to cut a branch accidentally since they have a lot of leverage. I wish they made smaller heads for these but at least I can now defo the back plants.

Day 36 for the girls. I will flip to 12/12 on Wednesday. The front sativa leaning plant seems to have overcome the poor start. It is hard to see in the pictures but there is a purple coloring in her leaves. In the photo that shows them together you can see the different leaf structures clearly. The big question now is which will be the better product? Time will tell.

Day 39 update. The lights were flipped last night to 12/12. The plants are about 16" tall. The Blue Brilliants are all doing well both phenotypes. As soon as they begin to flower they will get defoliated below the net; some light is still reaching the lower leaves.

Day 43 update: The girls are stretching like crazy. I am going to install the second support screen later today. The front pheno is not stretching as much as the girl in tha back. She is keeping pace with the Monster Profits.

Day 47: Not what you want to see when checking on the girls! I had a pump failure last night and the girls got thirsty. They will be ok by tomorrow. I keep a spare pump on the shelf just in case this happens.

Day 50 update:

I need to raise the lights again in the morning. The Blue Brilliant in the back is 43" tall, the one in the front 36" and all 4 Monster profits are ~40" I think the stretch is just about done. The girls are all showing their sex.It is getting hard to get a picture from inside the space.
