Campus Cafeteria was open today.
The menu has taken a definite turn to the Bloom side of the scale.
It's time to fatten these girls and push them to their bulimic limits.
Going by the heightened scent in the air, they're not complaining.
Sweet, sweet aromas greet me every time I open that tent out.

Spotlight today goes on one of the ladies - Cream Mandarine Auto #2 - The Beast.
This lady now stands a touch shy of 30" tall, and measures 27" in girth across her expanding waist line.
She has put in a redonkulous growth spurt recently, and now her structure dwarfs the other Cream Mandarine Autos around her.

Had a MASSIVE scare last night - the electrics in the house blew.
Took me a while to track the fault down; faulty wiring in existing system. Obviously just a matter of time.
THANKFULLY it happened during LIGHTS OFF - which is actually more confusing than not, because it means it happened under light load. Also relieved it was while I was here, and during non-sleeping hours!
From a fire and safety perspective - it's a huge concern, especially when the wiring fault created a black scorch mark on the wall.

Just goes to show, while we may have a lot of fun in here, and sometimes seem a little frivolous and laissez–faire, the equipment we use is serious stuff, and we need to take the necessary precautions. What happened last night could very easily have been an all engulfing house fire - and I'm not so sure an insurer would be forthcoming with a cheque for a house fire that started in a room dedicated to a grow of yummy goodness - even if the cause of the fire was a fault in the electrical wiring, and not the crop itself, I'm confident it would allow them to invoke one of the small print clauses that allow them to refuse paying out.

While I was searching for the cause, the only thought going through my mind was - "FUCK!! I'm going to lose the entire crop."
That was a horrible, horrible, gut wrenching feeling.

Whoah! That's the stuff that leaves a big lump in your chest fer shure!
Time to re-evaluate all of your house wiring eh?

I've mapped all the outlets, switches etc. in my house and it's down right scary. There is such a potential for overload as it now stands that I won't even consider an inside grow until I'm able to get a couple of designated lines added.

Thankful you dodged the bullet on that one Yozhik!

Worst part is, the majority of the house was extensively rewired less than 4 years ago.
The main control box, etc was moved from the basement area [where the tent is], to a new area on the ground floor.

Now I have to decide whether to call an electrician in now, and hope he can keep my horticultural endeavours confidential ... or should I nurse it over the line for the next 4 weeks, and bring someone in when the tent is empty.

:hurry:

Anyway ... hopefully by documenting this event in this Journal, it might give others a bit of a heads up.

I hear ya on that! When I traced my growroom's wiring, I went right out and bought a dedicated breaker box and wired my room for 2 - 15 amp circuits and cut it out of the old circuit. One runs just my air conditioner and fans, the other my lights. I wired with 12/2 so I can go to 20 amps if needed buy I working on building lower power lights.
