Sweet Seeds Yozhik's First Grow: Sweet Seeds Cream Caramel, Cream Mandarine, Devil Cream and Killer Kush

Nice setup, had very similar humidity problems when I had my bigger tent (green qube 120x240) which was ongoing until I switched to led about halfway through the grow.. Couldn't tell from the pictures are you running a humidifier ?.

No.
Not running a humidifier.

The basement area had RH% of 65-70%, and the original plan was to be running LED lighting, so only invested in DEhumidifier.
I never imagined LOW humidity would be an issue I would ever have to consider.
Running HPS while waiting for the production of the LEDs has been the unknown [temporary] factor.

Also meant to add I have very similar water to yourself at the tap Ph 7.8 ec 0.04-0.05 in winter and around 0.6 in summer. I have been having better success since I have been using a filter, with less cal mag problems. It has took me a year to get to the point of having water that now seems just about OK for the plants.

Yeah - I hear ya.

I do have an RO setup, but for drinking water only.
Perfect for domestic needs, but just doesn't provide enough RO water for horticultural purposes.
Even RO water pH is high, but the EC drops to 0.0.

Spring/bottled water isn't any better in Spain, and given the calcium deposit on an electric kettle element that develops when using bottled water, for tea and coffee, I suspect it's just tap water marketed as spring water, like most spring water in the world.

It's a little salty to the taste too.

Just one of those 'local' things ...

Yea......everyone says ro waters the way to go when using dwc or hydro that way

I would definitely consider one while you have the hps, you may well be ok with the damp weather we are currently having, but a few days of sun could drop it easily into the mid 20s. Hopefully the change to led and the RH should increase and sit within a limit that you are happy with.

I personally now let my RH drift between 41-48 regardless of plant age (perpetual grow) since noticing some great growers on here running very low RH under Led and having fantastic grows. I believe Tang lets his RH drop as low as 34 without any ill effect.

Yeah - exactly.
@TaNg regularly states his RH% is 35-45, which is where I had planned to run mine ... with the LEDs ...

Directly under the HPS. RH% is currently 32%, which puts the lower target of 35% within the margin of error of most hygrometers anyway, and I suspect the ambient room humidity is higher than under the direct heat/aridity of the HPS.

I'm not stressing about it ... yet ... but just monitoring it with an appropriate level of fringe-paranoia.

Spot on man, I will be following the grow and good luck.

DAY 16 - [morning of]:

Temperatures: ... Under HPS ~29 ℃ ... Ambient Room 26 ℃
Humidity RH%: ... 35 [+/- 5%]
Lighting:
... 2 x 600w HPS ... 25" from plants
Schedule: ... 20/4
Nutrients: ... B-52, Carboload, Bud Candy, Pro XXL, Voodoo Juice, Sensi Grow A + B ... all 1ml/l
Nutrients for CC2: ... B-52, Pro XXL, Voodoo Juice, Sensi Grow A + B ... all 0.5ml/l
pH of Feed: ... 6.7
Feeding: ... ~600ml, except CC2 who received a 'mini-flush' of ~ 1.2l of the reduced nutrient feed

Given the hint of nute burn on Caramel Cream 2, she received her first individual feeding today - half strength nutrient load, with double the amount of feeding to act as a mini flush, to remove the higher dose food from the medium and to flood it with the half-dose feeding to give her the environment she is hinting she wants. Will monitor her closely to see if this is more to her liking.

Humidity still around 32% directly under the HPS, which while on the low side, but stable, and manageable.

BDSM UPDATE

It's time the girls started to learn who is Boss around here, so I have introduced them to a little dose of light training. My chosen discipline for their first venture into the Dungeon Underworld is using hair ties to hold the upper leaves to allow full light to hit the normally obstructed leaves. They'll get this for about 6 hours out of the 20 that the lights are on. You can see the ties are loose, but just enough to bundle the leaves up to allow full light to those lower sites.

[No leaves were harmed in the making of this pictorial.]

It's time those lower leaves learnt that this isn't a free ride, and they are expected to pitch in and produce just like any other branch and leaf on this Campus.

Welcome to your future ladies ...
