Sup @pop22 !! Wow man your ladies got extremely beautiful and fat! What a progress, congratulations!
How long will you dry and cure flowers after harvesting?
I actually have developed my own dry and cure strategy. I dry the buds ( trimmed ) for 3-4 days depending on RH, then jar them. I check them 12 hours later and usually find them almost damp. I place them back in the drying rack until the dry again, usually 12-24 hours, then jar them again. Why? My theory is to slow down the drying in hopes of decreasing terpene loss. When I return them to the jars, I place hygrometers in the jars and monitor the RH. I burp the jar for 30 minutes when ever the RH in the jar exceeds 65%. I then place Boveda packs in the jars and maintain them at 62% for 60 days. I then ( this is new ), vacuum seal the canning jars, except for partial jars I'm vaping from. I can't prove it, but I think my buds smell stronger and better than ever after even 2 weeks of cure.
I never saw that method anywhere but its one I will try out myself for sure. I want to see how it will turn out for you!
Will be waiting for updates!
@Dinafem-Mark
I chopped them today. The last few days have very hot and humid. Last night however, the temperature went down to about 65F and 90% humidity. Perfect conditions for Boytris............ so I decided last night that I'd chop this morning. Damn good thing I did! I probably lost 10% of the big plant and 1/2 of the main cola of the small plant, maybe 15% of her total. Could have been lots worse. My first bud rot event cost me 1/3 of a greenhouse full of plants, lost about a 1/2 pound! But I've been watching the weather close for just this reason. I was going to chop a week ago, and we were suppose to be in a long dry spell, then this tropical storm decided to do something different and head almost straight North........
And even with that, I've had a good harvest! Surprisingly, they buds are rather low odor and sicy, maybe like sandalwood and jasmine. Buds werre a bit leafy but thats not uncommon with outdoor plants. Lots of foxttails!
Overall, I've been very pleased with these plants! No issues at all from start to finish. Now I can't wait to sample here!
I'll post dry weight when they are ready.
Thank you Dinafem Mark for the opportunity to grow these fine ladies! I'll post a couple pics a bit later. My poor fingers have had enough for now lol!
Curious to see the buds drying! You made a great job!
Great knowledge shared around here
Update"
Just weight the bud and jarred it up! Dry weight for these 2 girls is:
36.7g for the small plant and 90.2 for the big plant! 126.9g total. 4.48 ounces. Very happy! And its fine bud too. I vaped a couple bowls yesterday. Wonderful flavor tastes a bit like cloves and sugar! Going to be real nice after a cure. I'll be growing this again, maybe in the spring.
Again, thank you very much, Dinafem Mark for the opportunity to grow this!
I'll post some bud pics soon.
