Mephisto Genetics White Crack + Sour Livers SIP LOS Grow

Well FWIW, because you like Amber your chances of Foxtailing goes up dramatically with Autos. You said it went 2 or 3 weeks extra. That is the main reason foe your Foxtailing. Also, Im not sure if you do or have done Photos? I am a firm believer that Autos and Photos ripen and degrade differently. Because of Autos built in timer, I fiemly bekieve that the window for optimal harvest is shorter than Photos. Autos are most potent when mostly Cloudy IMO. Too much amber on Autos = decreased Trichomes and Terpenes. Potency goes down faster as a result if taken too long. Most Photos can go longer than Autos for Amber trichs without compromising too much taste, smells, Foxtailing, and potency . Also due to Autos inability to replicate exact phenos, you are unable to know which pheno is Foxtail sensitive or Ambers faster, unlike clones. If you like a lot of Amber on Autos you may want to keep track of which ones dont Foxtail. Many times Sativa phenos Foxtail more oftern than Indica. Good luckx slow

yes, ive done mostly photos lol..
just started autos a couple years ago..

the dg didnt end up getting much amber if any really..was checking her for 2+ weeks with the loupe, all pistils had receded on the main parts of the plant.. pretty much 95% cloudy is where i pulled the trigger, when she yellowed up, i had seen enough and i didnt want it to start going down hill like you said..
Autos have come a long way since lowryder.. which i never bothered with lol!

The DG I ran a couple months back, I actually did a split harvest on. I very rarely do that, but it was necessary because the top half was ready, way before the lower half. I could tell the top half was going to foxtail a lot, if I didn’t chop that half. I took the top half at about 80 days. My average finish time with my set up is usually 75 days for strains in general. Smaller plants are closer to 70, and big plants closer to 80. Really big plants end up closer to 90.
Cheers

Clear, amber, etc different preferences for sure but when the leaves are drying, time to go - she is finished ...... To Sinse point - sometimes partial harvest is best, especially with bushy girls!

Yeah, I dont recommend seeking amber. Really, it is too long for most Autos IMO and some wont show Amber much at all. If they yellow too much the quality sudffers quickly. Peace, slow

Nail on the head right heree @Organic Sinse . I do the same thing on large plants, tall plants tops finish fastèr than the bottoms most often. Letting the under growth go longer if needed or worth doing. Pkus gives you a wider variety. Size will extend Autos total time. That is why I prefer small to medium sized strains...they finish faster and take up less space. Many large plants yield less than 2 smaller plants. Peace, slow

if / when i run dg again, i might just pull the top down to even things out

Fwiw DG grows a lot like Sour Stomper, tall and skinny. You can level the top out, but dont lay the branches out too much, not worth it. It grows like a corn stalk, but the top does get taller than the side branches by a decent amount. Not a Scrog strain, but minor training is helpful to reduce top stretch too much. Peace, slow

If anybody wants amber I’m sorry not sure where this thread is and trust me fastbuds is not my favorites breeder but their g14 will amber from top to bottom and it don’t take too long and I believe that’s where she’s best

Ya on that 1st gelato I did exactly that and cut the tops of the 5 or so tall branches and let the bottom puff out but didn’t swell too much over a week! Also being past 90 days on all 3 I think for this go I’m just doing the dark tonight (1st time doing it too) but I picked up that 4x4 gorilla tent today so I’m closing all vents on 2x4 and I’ll set 4x4 up tomorrow!
