Extraction Where's all the eth extractors?

im in the uk,ive never heard of grain alcohol.i got my first iso from a chemists years and years ago for a completely different use lil 100ml bottle cant remember how much it was,and was asked quite a few questions as to why i wanted it and what was i gona do with it.
here we can get 70% for cleaning paint brushes from most any stores.above that and its the tinternent.so my 1st and 2nd attempts have been with 99.9%.

Hey ya @archie gemmill ,where im at the 99% iso is getting hareder to buy at the regular stores so i started looking online to figure prices,they are not too terribly bad,and if it wasnt for the "wait"time" id prolly get some for a future batch(but im lazy like that,honestly),i guess i just like the availability of picking it up whenever i need it...BTW did you ever get your beyond buds book ??
 
yep i did, i also got ed rosenthals marijuana growers handbook,closet cultivator and this is cannabis from nick brownlee.
made the mistake of getting 3 books at once,so instead of just reading them im flicking.its gona take me twice as long to get them read.
not sure on usa prices but over here 1L of 99.9%iso is £9 5L is £16 thats cheap as chips compared to a 750ml bottle of booze.:pass:
 
:yoinks: Those prices are dirt cheap!! Haha on the books,I done the same thing except I got the cannabis bible and it's about 540 pages,,still haven't finished it or the beyond buds book,but I'm trying!! The more I think I learn,the more I know I don't know...ouch!!! Peace out @archie gemmill !!!

Hi Everybody !! So this weeks adventure has me showing what is possible with a second wash,now originally this bud was washed with EC/eth and pulled 7 grams from 40 grams of bud,it's sat and dried since Feb 6,but rather than include this in last weeks gumby run,I kept it separate just for this purpose,the yield on this wash will be figured into the original 7 grams just to show a total % of what a double wash can do for total yield. The process is in progress so I'll update when finished....A few things to make mention of is that the Unbleached filters should be pre-dampened to keep a dry filter from soaking up the "honey",also,again I could only find 91% ISO but would suggest using as pure as you can find..Keep in mind that the more it's washed the darker the finished product and results in a lower grade of finished product,I have seen people wash a third time,i threw it in the trash tho.anyway here's a few pics #1 shows the starting material #2 shows the juice in the jars and at this point it it still not too green so a third pull may be darker...okay more info as soon as the purge is done

one last thing is,the mesh type coffee filters to the left,I have used but I'm not sure the micron on these,I used them to initial strain some dry ice hash into the coffee filter( but I didn't wash/clean them last time)
 
Alright just an update,I am calling it a day and I didn't get to final purge/consolidation,but I am setting up for next weeks run and the buds will be dried,cleaned/chopped,and weighed...more tomorrow...

So,this batch of qwiso reminds me of the first time I ever ran,,dark,dark oil,oh well,this was just to show that the material can be pushed farther than just a first run,some people do a second wash immediately ,some freeze( while it's still wet) and second wash at a later time.i let it dry and re-ran it..This did bring the final total of the 40 grams to 8 grams which put the final yield at 20% ..This wax will leave your rig black and it is way more planty,that's why I don't usually second run...now there is a whole other process to clean this further to an amber color,but more weight will be lost( and honestly,I've read about it but never tried it)....pics

Alright so the process is in progress,I started with 67.69 grams of bud( last harvests auto ultimates) ,,I am currently evap purging now and I will have final numbers by this eve,thanks for dropping by...here's a teaser pic

...I forgot to include this info,I added the trim from the Wappa plant which was not included in the weight,I'm not guessing it added much,I'll just say the starting weight is 68 grams..sorry bout that,I am trying to give the most accurate info so anybody trying this knows what to expect,as always the final weight is dependant on the quality of the starting material...peace
