Well pretty sure its ruined. Never seen anything like it.
It actually has black spots growing on the bottom. Nasty looking.
Still got ec in there to evaporate yet.
Didnt know mold could grow in ec if thats what it is.
Guess i'll wait till it drys.
Bummer.live and learn.

I dont think so, i made before with iso but could their be that much of a difference.
I was hoping for shatter not the black tar.
Anyway i scraped it all up, warmed it up enough to whip it altogether, now sitting on a heating pad.
This evening i'll let harden back up.
Thought about adding more ec and restraining it.
It should get hard because i took care not to get plant material in there and did one minute rinses.
I think the problem was just way to much ec to evaporate at one time .
It was a whole fifth cause i had a lot of trim to run.

Well now its smooth but the color scince i whipped it is like a grayish.
Pretty weird, hoping it clears up after hardening, if it hardens !!!

Thank you for covering the questions @Bekay i think with the site changes my notifications were turned off @oldcoot ,have you any updates for us? After the bud is in the smaller mason jars i give a quick couple shakes and put in the freezer for approx three minutes, take from freezer, shake a few more times then dump thru the strainer into the coffee filter for filtering..i will mention,i rarely use trim tho,i do all bud run..what i have noticed is that the longer it sits in jars the less the return,i have some recent harvest of the same strain i will use to validate or debunk this "theory" ...it sounds like you done everything right, and your process will get better the more times you do it,,,hope i didnt ramble too much...there is always someone to offer help and my notifications are turned back on...peace..

No problem, the only thing i did different when i strained all through the double coffee filters into the one pyrex dish to evaporate, it was alot.
The strained ec was about an inch deep,
I think that was, is the problem.
Ive done this before with iso though and never this much at a time .
It was quite nasty looking shit.
So like i said, scraped it up, heated it and whipped the hell out it .
Now letting it solidify.
It does seem to be solidifying at this time but tacky to the touch yet and i think it will stay like a sticky wax.
Well i didnt want black tar and it sure isnt.
It does look greenish, which means to long in the ec but does that also mean in the length of time evaporating
It was only in the plant matter one minute.
Its some funky looking shit, not sure what im going to do with it.
I'll let go till tomorrow and check it.

Let it finish the way you normaly would and give it a try,i have done some no heat purges with a fan but mostly i use a hotplate to purge, there is a new thread just below this one that covers alcohol shatters as well, his process is a little different from mine but maybe it can give you some pointers i might have missed,if ya need i can go over the process with you as i do it,but in my process the chopped bud sits in the eth for no longer than 4 min,3 min is average,..peace bro

Eat it, no bullshit eat the shit outta that shit if you don't wanna smoke it. You could make a hash banger with it for SURE!!!!!

After reviewing your process the only difference i see is,you said you dry sifted it before you washed it,not sure if this may have made to much edge surface areas and caused the eth to pull more chlorophyll..the dry sift process may not have left much "oil" to be pulled from the trim but the 1 minute wash should have not caused it to be un-ordinarily green,,did you by chance have air moving over it( i see you said no fan)..the most low cost equipment i can think of for future extracions would be either a small fan and a heating pad or the hotplate like i use is 20$ walmart and fan is not needed,
