Extraction Where's all the eth extractors?

I've been making coconut oil caps awhile now too, and pretty much the same manner as pop22.

Take a couple oz of cured flowers, few oz of trim, decarb mine at 240 F for 60min inside double bagged turkey cooking oven bags. I stopped grinding them because was loosing tons of trichs. A few stabs with a fork, after decarbing, does enough. Put into big crock pot, add a cup of warmed (just so it's liquid) coconut oil, then add water until the product is totally covered. Add 2 tsp of soy lecithin, important! Put lid on crock pot. Now I cook on high for a couple hours then on low for 6hrs, but maybe 2 hrs is fine idk. Stir with a chopstick every hour. Let cool a lil bit, then filter off the mushy weed spinach lol, into one or two large mason jars. Now this is nasty water and yummy oil. Close up the lids very tight, and put them upside down in the refrigerator, not freezer! In a few hours or maybe next day, the solid canna coco oil is on top of the jars, liquid water on bottom where the lid is. Put on gloves, open the jar carefully over the toilet to drain off the nappy water. It will make a mess and smell horrible. Flush away. Now turn jar over and heat up just warm to melt the oil back to liquid. Use a new "craft syringe" to draw up oil, put into gelatin capsules, not vegetable capsules! (Veg caps melt). The capping goes infinitely better with a "capsule machine". Place caps immediately in freezer or they'll still melt. I do 15 at a time with the capsule machine and put directly in freezer. Enjoy!

I've been meaning to take another shot at capsules...hmmm three day weekend is almost here!!
 
I was running late so this was a sun-mon run...I tried a few different things this time and I always share the "tweaks" to get the final product,so here's a few pics and the info that to go with them

the bowl to the left was dried further in the oven for 20 minutes at 200 degrees,it has to go into the freezer in a jar immediately to "lock out" any moisture it could pull back in,I weighed this before I oven dried and it was just over 60 grams,the bowl to the right was dried and cured( no oven dry) and looks more fluffy it is prolly around the same weight,I had some help from Wendy( in the red cup) ..I double ran the eth and used up all the bud

skipping ahead a bit,the mat to the right is the oven dried stuff,as the other pan was evaping I set the oven dried stuff under a 60 watt bulb with a dome to slow purge it for about an hour which pulled most of the eth out..

after the bud is quick washed the leftovers are put in a bowl,the leftovers were washed a second time cause I had the EC to do it( this is the mat to the far left) so what I ended up with is two "A" batches and a "B" batch which will have more sedative properties and a little different flavor...I will sun purge at medium temps till it turns to shatter and all the EC bubbles out( you can see the middle mat is purging pretty good) the same thing can be done in the double boiler but if it's purged in the initial pan it shoots all over when you scrape it with a blade.. In Summary..the oven dried bud seems to have yielded less than the non od buds,this was the same plant so that factor is void,there may have been a bit more non od stuff but it looks like a pretty good difference,the second washed stuff yielded a good amount and would have normally been set aside for a gumby run,but I will put this with the rest of the stuff that was washed once for a gumby run later on..I will update again soon ,next weekends plan is for a capsule attempt and a mushroom noc' ..peace

The filters from this run has yielded 10.39 grams of moondust/filter hash, @pop22 ,I'm still not positive exactly what this is but it don't make it thru the coffee filter and will get you stoned so it must have trich oil in it( you think?), I have been saving it since I started extracting and now have a pint sized jar,I am skipping an eth extract this weekend but plan on a capsule attempt,with 30 grams of fresh bud,this 10.39 grams of moondust,I am also throwing in 1gram of eth shatter and a bit of DIH,I will be following your recipe pop22 .Do you think all this together is a good idea in a 00 capsule ??

i couldn't use the tare weight function because it took to long to scoop up he moondust
 
Hey @Bekay ,have you ever saved or smoked this stuff?? It has a real planty flavor but it will get ya ripped....I forgot to include this pic,but in terms of usable product and total return on an eth run I have never included the weight of this stuff

probably some trichs caught in the waxes that didn't melt..........just a wild guess, and have no real answer lol!

Don't know if I'd start with a full cap of that.....lol. If you do make caps with it, tell us about them!
