Hi anthro,,..That's an excellent idea,,I agree 100% with you that the work of the EC is done..with the lower alcohol content and higher water content ..I'm not positive on this info but with more water content the oils may tend to separate from the water which should not be a problem if shaken before use,,and your right again,no chance for chlorophyll..I think you have a winning idea, keep us posted when you are done please..PeaceHey bro, you think it would be okay to reconstitute the extract into a much more palatable liquor, like Jack Daniels or Bombay Sapphire, ect.?
I've got the the washes done and the Everclear reducing now. Wanna keep as a tincture, but I just cannot handle Everclear, not even an eyedropper lol. So I'm thinking, once it's all extracted and reduced, the role of the Everclear is done, as is the need for low water content. Thus, I think it could be then re-disolved (reconstituted actually) into a lower proof ethanol without any issues. It's not like the new higher water content is going to bind to any new chlorophyll, it's already extracted and whatever is there is there. Right? I extracted from cured, extra dried, and decarbed and refrozen flower anyway, so I got amber wash not green.
I'm probably going to try it anyway, just checking your thoughts on it.
Yeah I'm thinking worse case is maybe the hydrophobic canna oils might only suspend in the alcohol thus might make a separative layer if sat still for a long time. It might even get cloudy when shaken.
Probably not, considering how uniformly booze and water mix, but adding a hydrophobic oil plus completely insoluble lipids could change the chemistry enough for separation.

In terms of booze choice, I actually gave lots of thought. Pops has a good tip on spiced rum (Captain Morgan), the sugary spice flavors could marry well with canna. I also think Jack Daniels would be a great choice for the smooth earthy oak flavors. In a different direction, Bombay Sapphire London Dry Gin would work well too, as this particular liquor has a wide array of herbal, fruity, spicy, light woodsy, flavors...so it's packed with assorted terpenes already.
Can you just soak some buds in gin for a month or so and then just have a little taste of gin? How much bud for a pint of gin?
