im starting to notice my leaves curling downwards and some of the leaves are even starting to fold up and over on the edged. theres some yellowish/brown spots on the leaves but all their roots look healthy. WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO??? im using advanced sensi gro n bloom two part ph perfect nutrients with RO water. the ph in my res was at like 4.3 last night when i checked it and the ppm was around 810. i qtr'd the reccomended dosage and fed last wednesday. when i talked to customer service at advanced i was told its probably an uptake problem and i should turn my lights off then use a spray bottle with 1ml/gallon of nutes and foliar feed them then wait an hr and tuen the lights back on. the temp in the res stays between 65 and 69 and the room temps between 76 and 80. this is my first hydro grow and i'd love any tips tricks or pointers anyone has on how i can fix these bad girls. heres some pics to help ya get a better understanding...

also, i bought another 1000w bulb ballast and air cooled hood this past weekend. currently i have an 8in fan on top of my tent drawing air in from a colder room and pulling that over my lights. my problem is that when i power on the second light the heat rises up to around 82+ so ive been only running the one light. do you guys think if i put my 6in fan over my intake duct and forced more cold air through that it would solve the heat problem?

I'm no hydro grower mate but a ph of 4.3 is to low,you wanna be up around 5.8 range i think.i also think you need some proper hydro advice so ill leave it in the hydro forum for now :smokebuds:
Here's a link to a chart iv found showing the nutrient uptake range http://www.simplehydro420.com/nutrients/hydroponic-ph-for-full-nutrient-update-chart/
Hi Gman ,Reds right ,sounds like a ph issue maybe. How old are they mate ?.
I would say 800ppm is way to high for that size baby as well. 82oF in the tent should be fine ,but no higher really . & If your using RO water & have seen some brown/rust colored spots >?..you may need to put a tiny bit of cal mag in as well . (4ml to 15 Lt ish).... all in all ,poss -PH ,cal mag deff & overfeeding issues ?.

Id do a fresh res of around 300/400 ppm & PH'd to 5.6/5.7 ... & if you do use a bit of cal mag ,make sure that goes in the res 1st & mixes... just the 1 light for a while G-man & not to close while there small :check:
Give it a go & if you can keep them in that PH range they may recover .:peace: :smokebuds:

I plan on changing the res tonight once I get home. I appreciate the advice a lot too. as far as age, they were all transplanted between 5/5 and 5/9. everywhere else I've looked said it probably was the ph and to do a change out. does adding the ph up/down alter the ppm or ec of the water? is it bad for the plants? the guys at advanced told me to start feeding after the first set of leaves...apparently they were wrong or I'm not as smart as I think I am and don't know what the first set is. I thought the sensi gro had calcium n magnesium in it? honestly I think I was impatient and jumped the gun with the nutes. I prolly should've just fed with RO water then waited til wk 2 and started the nutes. this is my first grow tho an I've got time and money into it so I'd like to salvage what I can if possible. ill keep this updated after the change out but please continue to keep the suggestions coming

Its fine to PH the res after adding nutes .. Just RO water is not a good idea now gman ,as they have root in the res already ... go around the 300ppm mark imo. PH will raise the ppm slightly & it will raise over the next 24 after making the res as it dissolves.(so set it at 250 to get 300 in 24hrs ). There may be calcium in your nutes & no need for cal/mg ? but i cant see the pics you put up mate ?. maybe light stress too if to close ?. .. Main things will be PH & EC /PPM though bud :group:if you have a syringe or similar to measure nutes then one drop every 10-15 hrs usually keeps the PH in the range needed

How many liters/gallons is in the res gman ? ... & how many liters per min is the pump aerating it bro ?:smokebuds:

there's 3 fans blowing in the tent. 1- 20" oscillating in the corner and 2 more 9" that are hung blowing across the light. the light is 1000w hps and is hung at least 30+ inches above them. res is 20 gallons. I have syringes and tools to measure. how do I know how much ph up or down to administer? thanks again as this is all very useful! please keep them coming as I'm going to clean and change the res shortly. thanks!

viracochaDWC- i changed the res with fresh RO water (ph 6.8) last night. the ppm was at 13. after i ran it through a cycle, the ph went down to 4.4 and the ppm was up to 220. seeing as i had already run a low dosage of nutes through my systembefore the res change, do you think this is my reason for increased ppm? also, im assuming the hydroton is a buffer of some sort because the ph went down so much? please correct me if im wrong tho. there is new growth (3rd or 4th set of true leaves) on the babies but its all very small. as of right now its only the first set of leaves on a few plants that have spots and discoloration. could i still salvage them with just the first set being damaged?

i also spoke with a rep for advanced nutrients last night and he said when using the sensi gro and bloom ph perfect nutes, that ppm doesnt matter. i was told if i follow the standard ppm measurements for the age of my plants that i will be underfeeding them. i dont know how true this is but thats what i was told. he also said that there are organic nutrients and that there is no exact way to measure the EC of organics so that could cause the reading to be high. im sure im forgetting more but ill be checking the thread via phone and ill get on the computer when i can and keep updating this but until then PLEASE keep the helpful info coming in
