Alright y’all. I have a question, I think I already know the answer but I’d like some input. I acquired another tent setup yesterday, 32x32x63. I typically grow in 1 gallon pots because my older tents are 2x2x3. But with the new height available I’m debating going up to 3 gallons. Here’s where the issue arises. This next grow will be my last until this fall because we have several trips planned for early summer/summer and I don’t trust anyone to take care of my plants. Obviously want to maximize this harvest. Should I do 4 3 gallon plants, or 9 1 gallon? 9 1 gallon pots will fit nicely, but so will 4 3 gallon. What would y’all do?

I prefer the smaller pots for several reasons. Easier to handle and know when to feed, more variety.....

You have three limiting factors first and foremost is the amount of quality light. This will determine the size of your yield. You should be able to get a little over 2g/watt if you have quality light. The second is your area. You have ~6.5sq ft or .6 Sq. Meter. I allow 4 sq. ft. per plant. So two plants will fill the space tightly without intense training. Last is the height maximum. You will want to run a lot of blue light to keep the plants short and bushy but be sure to have good air movement with compact plants.

The size of the pot really is not a limiting factor depending on how good of a grower you are. We have members growing 80g plants in Solo cups and I have grown an over 7 foot tall with super cropping yielding 540g plant in a 6" rock wool cube?

Have fun.

I don’t think I’m a great gardener but I hold my own. Indoors and autos is all new to me. Like I said I’ve been using 1 gallon pots and only topping no other training and I’m confident 9 will fit comfortably in the 32x32. That being said, the light is a Spider Farmer SF2000. I got a great deal on the light and tent so I had to grab it.
80g in a solo cup is crazy! I can’t even imagine. I have plants in 1 liter pots with essentially 1 solo cup worth of soil and I haven’t broke an ounce yet

Wait. 540g from one plant? An auto? Not sure how I overlooked that first time reading but that’s crazy! No, I’m not a good gardener lol. I just top them and water them. I don’t have a ton of free time to spend with them training and stuff. Maybe in the future.

Ok, plot twist. I just found a huge stack of .5 gallon pots from last years peppers. I can fit 25 of them in the tent :wall:
I think they're actually closer to a gallon. But they have a 6 inch footprint rather than a 8 inch. Deeper than my fabric pots.

This is what I think I’m gonna do. Leaves me some space. And it’ll give me enough medicine to get through the summer. Thanks for the input @Mañ'O'Green @420autoflower @automan2
