Lighting What are you waiting for? What's going to change the game? Who is doing interesting stuff?

I don't even know what that means! Explain it for us idiots! :pass:

Build A Soil sells a laminar flow hood.

Awesome, will read a bit later, thank you for the links!

Umm,

can we clone autos then?

I’m not a breeder, and I don’t like clones.

I like from seed. But...to get a huge producer and save it and regrow it as long as I want forever and ever....

Edit: clicked second link. $200! I might try, wanna read more about the kit. Gonna hit stupid YouTube :smoking::cooldance:

anyone here done this?

The problem with most of the UV products is that they are meant to be ran for very short periods of time in flower specifically. I see an untapped market for providing low doses of UVA over the entire grow from seed to harvest.

I'm reading of purported benefits like increased Ca uptake, improved hardening off, rooting, along with the benefits of flower in regards to UVA.

I think ScynceLED has great lights, same thing can be accomplished with a meshtek controller but it's a custom interface overall. At some point I realize I'm paying for quality and the ability to influence morphology.

Another factor is going to be more growers getting their hands on good lights and testing out these lighting options. I don't call BS on UV until I've tried considering all the studies and journals I've seen. @Mañ'O'Green runs the UVB and notes a difference in his terps.

I think if regulation was truly of interest there'd be a commercial push for most to grow the same. I know Canada has stringent laws on commercial cultivation. Focusing on water and energy conservation should be important with high efficiency lighting and growing methods but everyone grows how they know.
marketing, imo.

Companies making claims unsubstantiated to sell product, it will help some. About as much as leaving your plant in flower an extra 7 days.

I run 2 - t548ho UVA Plus 10,000K AgroMax lamps for the last 4 - 5 weeks of bloom 4 hours in mid day. I also have 1 - t548ho UVB. The last 3 weeks I run it with the UVA.

The improvement to the terpene profile is very high with the UVA and the THC level is much improved with the UVB. It is not hype and I consider it a standard part of my lighting.

TBH, you're also the SAME guy that said running a poor VPD and low RH 30% or so doesn't affect yield or potency!

No AgroMax or Reptile lighting for me.

You surely have me confused with some one else. I never recommend less than 40% RH and I run >40%<60% personally. I was one of the first AFN members to expound on the benefits of VPD. I have stated that here in the central valley of California I cannot reach VPD numbers because sometimes the RH outside is ZERO. I would also not state that low RH does not effect yield or potency because I simple believe that it can!

Possibly I confused you with somebody else, if so I'm sorry.

The point is I read everybody's opinion on things, some I believe and some I know is incorrect. As I have tried it myself. If you grow cannabis for years most have tried many things.

What types of timers do you use for them?

Limiting synthetic nutes used improves terpenes. Mankind has yet to better Mother Nature, FC.

Less is more. The nute manufacturers could care less how your plants taste and work, they are profit driven.
I've recently dug deep into this subject and it seems to be a widespread misunderstanding that a plant can differentiate between the two different types of nutrients. They cannot mainly because there is no difference, phosphorus is phosphorus and so on down the list.
A friend of mine says it like this "Plants don't care about organics only people do. "

Every paper i have found shows that hydroponically grown crops have the advantage over traditional farming practices.
I have been looking into this because we hear it all the time with cannabis hydro for yield and organic soil grows for quality . But the science says otherwise on basically every other crop. Im totally open to the idea that some kind of magic is happening with organics if someone could point me to a study or paper that would explain why and how. Mainly because then I would recreate it in my hydro grows.

I maintain a low EC in my hydroponics below 1.2 through flower and many substrates suggest using low ECs. Higher ECs have affected my taste and aroma. The first time I took the advice to run a low EC was the first time I had terps to clear a room and taste that impressed. Idk if it's something universal but at the least I agree with Harley Smith that less is more. If can run a .8EC to harvest then the manufacturer's 'suggestions' are invalid lol.
