Lighting What are you waiting for? What's going to change the game? Who is doing interesting stuff?

Do you have any info on the nutes and terps? I've not heard that, and as a synthetic user, I'd be interested. Im happy with how my stuff is working, but interesting to see as I am continually learning and trying to improve.

I've read about it in the past and actually ran plants with no nutes vs plants using nutes at mfg suggested strength and at 1/2 strength. The plants with no nutes were the best tasting by far. This is because the natural terpenes within the hybrids DNA were not altered in any way.

It may not convince you but I strongly suggest experimenting on your own. It's the only way to actually know.

I'm waiting for genomics to catch up and make seeds that are guaranteed elites every time. Just from the ability to test and sort parental lines, we should be able to hone in on what we're looking for about 10x faster and with way less waste. I'm not able to do large sifts and hunt for that diamond in the rough, so having more stability from genetic testing is high on my list. Legalization is also high on my list because it means we can use the sun instead of spend so much time indoors. I'd pivot my whole setup to having 2 big bushy trees ready for the spring, and then just grow autos in my spare time indoors. Indoor growing has its pros, but nothing beats greenhouse in my humble opinion.

Mephisto OG strains should have much less variation and phenos. As far as autos go? Possibly the most stable of all.......the Phisto originals.

Interesting about UV-A, I am going to try to read more into it later today. Looking at the meshtek controller, thats something I didn't know about. Now can that controller, change spectrum and whatnot, even if the light isn't designed for it? I know the Kush 2.0 that Scynce just released offers full power in any spectrum mix, which is something that their first version didn't have and I can see being an issue if the light wasn't designed for that... Like you mentioned on the morphology, I've used spectrum control to basically try to keep my plants shorter, by giving more blue early on than is needed. So far its done a good job for me with that, resulting in some of the shortest plants I've grown (with a few tall exceptions).

Water regulation is something I think is worth the industries time to work on as it also gets "greener" with the led lighting. To me, it makes sense because it will, in the end, cost LESS for companies to do business. Which is the point of a business! So hopefully there is some sort of advancement in that field, although I'm not really sure how to make water last longer, or go further.

You have to have multi channel lighting to use the controller to it's full potential. CutterAUs boundary riders, bridgelux vestas, etc. will work but it's easier imo to have separate rooms while adding in your extra colors where needed. Not everyone can do that either though.

Hydroponics with the right methods conserves more water than soil. Sub irrigation saves more water regardless of the medium, some greenhouses are recycling their water and using computers to monitor and manipulate fertilizer. There is a company with a medium that can hold water extensively with much of the research happening in the middle east.

Outside ain't easy friend! Lots of stuff you can't control! I think genetics are getting there, I feel confident with any Meph or Night Owl seeds I use too.

Good info, thanks for all the knowledge, I was hoping you'd chime in on this thread as you seem to deeply understand lighting, far above where I am at right now! Building my own lights would be really cool, I just don't trust myself yet!!

I got nothing new per se, but last year I grew in NFT and hated it. I switched over to DWC and loved it. But I had the left over NFT trays just gathering so the end of last year I used the small trays and grew some plant in pots in the top and watered via the water pump from the NFT set. Got some really good results with it too so this weekend I done the same again but this time with the big NFT tray. It’s essentially a NFT / Wilma hybrid and it surprisingly works well.

Do you have a thread? Be interested in checking it out!

evolution in tech is just as often the results of things gone wrong and random experiments.

maybe you are on to a new hybrid design.

maybe. Unfortunately no but I do have a few posts floating about. But I may document this big grow actually. Yeah I think I will

marketing, imo.

Companies making claims unsubstantiated to sell product, it will help some. About as much as leaving your plant in flower an extra 7 days.
