DIY Wetwoods // DWCR Build

Hi @wetwood If you have not already take a look at my sticky thread about DWC basics
https://www.autoflower.org/threads/deep-water-culture-basics-bubbleponics.64478/

The biggest problem with recirculating DWC is keeping the roots out of the plumbing. Anything less than 2" pipe between the reservoirs will be a problem. Have the pump intake at the top of the water line and crossovers at the bottom helps some. If you watch your PH very closely you will have few problems with nutrient deficiencies between different strains but it can still happen. Let the PH roam around between 5.6 and 6.3. that way it moves through the optimum zone for the different nutrients. I have not used Dutch Pro Nutrients. There is a test thread on here somewhere for the Dutch Pro Line. I usually start at 50% of the chart and add 10% each week until I get a little tip burn and then back off 10%.

Tag me if you have questions.
Thank you for replying, will give your thread a read now. Ah see iv went with 1" piping, due to the cost of anything bigger i was hopeful the roots didnt reach that far down being more rectangle. 24ltr buckets im really floating towards dwc now the more people reply to the thread. Will certainly make the build interesting. Will be a full diy setup leds and dwcs. Will tag you when i get started.

Roots in DWC.

Regarding the bubbles I have went with a Ceramic Disc air stone, 13cm pretty big real heavy and creates tiny bubbles which reading your thread is the way to go do you think i need multiple in 1 bucket or one sufficient?

My first 2 DWC grows were in this:

About 15 Litres in each bucket to the bottom of the netpot.
My Northern lights had it's bucket absolutely PACKED with roots. I don't think it could contain any more...

Yeah seen them, i have opted for making my own a diy grow you could say. 200mm net pots look HUGE! cannot wait to get started.

Alright buds,
so a lot of the parts for the rdwc are now flooding in *HAR HAR*, i have decided to give RDWC a go, worst case scenario few pipe changes there individual dwc's. to make my life a tad easier i will be running 3 x THC Bomb. Id of liked to be part of the grow battle on 1st Feb but I dont see me getting started till after the 10th.

The plan will be to start neuts very low as suggest by @St. Tom and work up slowly, Might reduce the end harvest alot but its only for me at the end of the day.

Starting nutrients low and working up will not decrease your yield. Just keep a close eye on pH and ppm/EC.
This chart will let you know what to do when readings change:

I record all my readings in a spreadsheet and it makes it really easy to keep track of things:

If you want, I can send you a link for the spreadsheet for you to copy - it WILL make your life easier ;)

I run the stand alone DWC and have had good luck. RDWC can work also if you take it slow with the nutes. Just be careful with your breeders. Some are very stable, others are very stable but have multiple phenotypes. I’ve had all my Fastbuds GG4 plants look identical and finish exactly together. Both times running Dutch Passion I’ve had one plant go sativa leaning and turn into a 120 day monster. Not a big issue if it’s in it own bucket. But inRDWc you’d be waiting another month to start, waiting for that last slow plant to finish. I also planned a RDWC when first thinking about growing but went the other direction. Spend good money on genetics and go slow and RDWC should be fine. It’s all about finding what works for you. Start more seeds than you need so poor germ doesn’t leave you staggered from the gate would be my only advice. :pass:
