<<< Week 6+ update >>>

:woohoo1: On the home stretch now for these three, ten days or so I figure. I've been feeding as much as I dare, and that must taper off soon as they wind down.... They are getting several hours of Sun to bake in that UV light potency!
Creepers are doing OK, looking to take at least a month yet... Big one got gently slipped into a larger pot today, no choice, it was too damn small to support productive budding! One thing nice about plastic pots, they come right off with no real harm to the roots; larger pot filled in around the same smaller pot, so a perfect pocket is made and so less disturbing of the roots as well,...

Love the orchids, never grown them myself but a few year back I was in northern Peru with my mother, she knew the hotel owner we stayed at so he connected us with a local farmer that had setup part of his property as a jungle orchid preserve. I have never seen so many amazing flowers in one place and he also had honey (the best honey I have EVER had!)

:pass: Waira , very pretty flowers there. I get enough Nim seed i can send some over:dizzy: The girls are looking great , be some strong summer sun there atm for them, be interesting how the big plants Liberty Haze etc will like the summer sun:kiss::dancer:
Hey Smokey! ... ahhh, this Gongora is actually pretty dull, a few other's I've had were much more fun but unfortunately, they all ghosted on me! Gongora's outside their prime growing conditions can be difficult to keep, root rot seems to be the thing that catches up with them when in pots.... This particular cultivar of rufescens seems to be more tolerant to cool conditions, a nice lady at a local club got it from her mentor many years ago, so maybe he collected it from higher elevations?
@Prescription Blend -- This is a Central and South American genus, part of the amazing Stanhopea family, all are head scratching weird and fascinating!
My avatar is Stanh. martiana, another rare find in that it's apparently cool tolerant. This one has done so well living inside/outside, I have divisions to sell- :eyebrows:
... now if I could just find buyers!
Peru is absolutely loaded with orchid species, many I'd love to have but as cloud forest species, they are not tolerant of my conditions. Some of these you can't hurt with water - - but dry them a little and they say :finger: bye-bye.... I can only imagine that farmers collection, bless him for grabbing what he can!
tropical wildflower honey, what a treat -...you may never taste the like again, they are all so unique in their composition!

Hey Waira, We have cloud forests nearby at Springbrook Mountain, the higher parts are often in cloud during summer. I bet there would some nice orchids there, have to try to get some more images up there to share. It is also one of the wettest places , averages around 3000mm (118inches) per year. Peru sounds great with its orchid species, one of the most diverse countries is Colombia . Colombia has the most orchid species in the world with 2.010 species, 1.543 of which are endemic. I would love to visit Colombia for sure, is a place I want to see for its diversity as well as Canna plants. They sound like they are pretty difficult plants to keep alive
