Howdy folks, it's time to open up the 2021 season finally!
Same deal: mix it in, let it cook a couple-few weeks, and it's ready to go....
Auto's in the tent, photo's outside at the same oceanside location as usual....I'll still be adding in occasional supplements like Si, humic-fulvic, inoculants, kelp, micronutes, and topdressing/PK boosting....
Last year, I planted the photo juvies directly into their final pots (10gal), where they veg'ed like champs but ate up the soil reserves too damn soon and forced me to get busy chasing their demands the rest of the way!
This year I'll try a staged transplanting from 5's to 10's, put some root squeeze on them to keep them smaller, and try my best to stay ahead of the depletion curve with occasional feeds....
The auto's last year got the same soil but cut 1/3 with reg. soil, which wasn't quite enough, so this year I made a separate milder batch,.... we'll see if I found the sweet spot!
Soil:
- same as before, Empire Builder and King's Mix... auto's get a 50/50 blend, but this year I'll be adding some KM to the EB for the photo's to fluff it up a bit more....

** Most if not all are chosen for known good mold resistance and/or speed.... DOHz will be my first true nearly pure OHz ever as well, a special cross indeed for her unusual speed!
To help fight off the bloody Rots this year I'll be testing out a bio-agent called Phyter (aka RotBlock), and endogenous fungal microbe that resists pathogenic invaders like botrytis,... This microbe crowds out and out-competes other pathogens on the surface, plus being endogenous makes it that much harder for them to gain foothold into the tissues....
