Vanilla Scoops is Vanilla Kush x Purple Scoops. Mine is on day 60 so I can't help with smoke report unfortunately.

Hey buddy, two questions:
1. Did your Vanilla Scoops finish up? If so, what was your final impression and how does she smoke?
2. Do you know the lineage of Purple Scoops by any chance?

Hello, Yes she is finished up and on day 36 of cure. I have not sampled yet so I can't really give too many impressions. I subbed out the trim job to the wife lol and I pulled 67 grams dry from a 1 gallon pot of soil. It's my understand that Purple Scoops is Purple Punch x Gelato x Roc Berry.

Thanks for the reply! My VS just finished week 7, so it's got a ways to go before it finishes, let alone dries and cures. How long do you usually cure for before you sample?

My goal is 42 days *6 weeks* but it really depends on my current inventory. I didn't smoke the entire month of October and I grow perpetually so I am stocked up. Right now I am about to open up a Grove bag of Mephisto Orange Biscuits. I have 4 more strains in Grove bags before the Vanilla Scoops comes up. So it will be a couple more weeks.

I still haven't smoked the flower but on the rosin side I was light. So today I took some Vanilla Scoops, Blue Microverse, Grape Pinnacle and Orange Biscuits and filled a 7 gram rosin bag of each and pressed. I don't weigh but the Grape Pinnacle yielded the most followed by the Vanilla Scoops. I haven't tried the Grape Pinnacle yet. I started with a dab of Orange Biscuits and it has had best taste so far, great terps. The Blue Microverse was next and it was good. I didn't get a blueberry pheno, mine is more on the just deep dank side which isn't bad! I just tried the Vanilla Scoops and I will need additional dabs to zero in on taste but I will say I have a high tolerance often not feeling like I get "high" and this was first to get me "broke brain high" right now. This paragraph took forever lol

Just cut my Vanilla Scoops, so maybe a week to dry and then 2-3 months to cure and we'll find out what she's like.

My goal is to harvest as close to 10%-80%-10% clear/cloudy/amber as I can get, we hate couch lock so we avoid too much amber. This plant started to amber up really early, and I don't know if it was genetics or environmental. In order to avoid any more amber, I took it down at day 69 and it looked to be around 30%-50%-20%... it's not an exact science, but since I schwazzed that ratio was pretty consistent top to bottom. That's a lot more clear than I usually have at harvest.

I did a few things differently on this grow. My environmental changes included putting in supplemental lighting -- an HLG UVA30 XL and some RapidLED far red. I vaguely remember years ago when I played around with "lizard lights" that they sped up my harvest time, so I'm not wondering if it's a UV impact. The bottom line is that I wish the plant would have gone longer and fattened up more, it feels like the amber was a premature reaction to some stress and wasn't optimal.

I'm not a smoker, but my wife and a friend finally lit up some Vanilla Scoops, and the unanimous verdict was that it (at least the pheno I grew) should be named "Lemon Sherbet Scoops" -- they got a bright zesty lemony flavor from it. No vanilla in this batch. They liked it, said it was a pleasant high, strong and stoney. After smoking for a while, they didn't have much else to say about it but seemed to be having a great time...
