Ultrasonic Humidifier

Keep my VPD from the 1.1 - 1.6 range. I accidentally left my humidifier up one night so it was 55-60%rh at 68 degrees :/. But typically I keep the temp around 72-78 depending on how hot it is and the rH from 40-55, 55 being the highest point when I’m not home to fix it. I going to get my dehumidifier going to keep my rH at 40.

But question if I keep my VPD in the green zone will mildew still happen? Should I take preventative action toward the mildew and still aim for 45-50% rH
If you're respecting VPD and have same airflow in the tent, i see no reason to have mildew.

I use ultrasonic humidifiers to keep humidity in the 60s from sprout to harvest in hydro with no bud rot ever.
But not dispersing the fog these humidifiers put out could cause problems.
I set my humidifiers outside the tents on a wire shelving unit, and blow the humidifier's fog thru an upper tent porthole.
A small fan sits behind the humidifier to help blow fog into the tent, while dispersing it.

OK good you have air movement inside and an exhaust.

I would avoid using the humidifier at all in flower personally. Is your humidity extremely low or something or why do you feel you need it? Usually during flower people are trying to remove moisture from their tent rather than add.

Ya this seems like a better application of a humidifier, especially during flower. But again I have to ask the OP why they need humidity in flower. Most people have the other problem of too much moisture lol.

One tent, one vegging girl & one flower. Thought I could do both. Humidity here in the tent without it drops below 30 rH. It’s hot and we have a/cs going which takes the humidity out of the air.

Ahh ok gotcha, makes sense now. Ya Id try and keep the mist away from the flowering plants and put it on the side with the plants in veg. Should be fine below 60% but just monitor it as you can.

Threw the humidifier ontop of my dehumidifier and put a fan pointing at it so when it fogs it’ll move it around. I made some adjustments to the fans and stuff and humidity is staying at a good rH and temps good making a good VPD. I got some DoctorZymes on deck just in case mildew wants to mess with me. Have to root drench my soil when I feed next cause I have some mites in the soil and idk what they are. Investing in a microscope now cause I’ll need one soon enough anyways. Thanks for the help/knowledge. I might modify my humidifier by attaching a hose to the part that fogs. Could totally find tubing that’ll for the hole.

Looks like I was wrong! The spots I thought were mildew was actually thrip residue.. I knew I had good circulation and everything I caught one of them on one of my leaves so I sprayed my Mid-Flower lady and my pre-flower lady with some Spinosad & I have Dr Zymes for my other insecticide to jump back & forth from. A few leaves show some damage, should I let them be or do I remove the infected leaves?

My opinion is that the VPD chart doesn't care whether a plant is in flower or veg.
Following the VPD chart will maximize both veg growth and flower growth.
I use humidity around 65% from seed to harvest, and have never had bud rot in hydro.
I don't top, train, or take any steps to open up the canopy, but I do have good air flow and circulation.
