It's hard by yourself. This is my first year with a partner. You can do exactly what I did but maybe not so much dirt. That's how I used to do it. Solo. But save your dirt for the next year, just add some lime to raise the PH. Maybe even add some fertilizer in the Autumn to help with next year.

The game cam is a great idea. It will send a MMS picture immediately, of any activity at your site. So if it's found by rippers, you get an idea of what they look like, and if it's police, you never return to the grow. Go back after a few months and get your game camera.

As for strains. I have tried many over the years but I will do a fast buds strain this year. I grew Gorilla Cookies indoors and ran it with coco and PH perfect nutrients. I had around 75cm plants in 5 weeks. Super impressed.

I’m going with gorilla glue this year. Got five beans already from fastbuds and I’ll get some generic ones too. What dirt did you use? I’m thinking of putting in a few bags of bio biz and mixing with generic compost from a supermarket too bump it up a bit more.

Guys, what best. Individual holes for each plant or digging out a bed? I’m leaning towards a bed tbh but wondering what’s everyone preference?

It's more for a hobby as im just looking for something to do,
an early start would be great lol, I could move them somewhere else then, I've just got a house in the Country but have a neighbour next door/The landlord who's 79,

There's fields and forests surrounding me, I'm sure I could start in the cold frame and move them to a location near by, I can keep an eye on them then with the binoculars and walk down with thd dogs to sort them out.

What would be the best way of doing it tho, start indoors and transplant ?
Or start outside and plant germinated seeds in fabric pots,
And can i prepare a bed in the soil using compost inside the cold frame,?

Hey guys, what about saving the soil from whatever you've got going now and using that?.. no need for buying new bags!.. its about the guerrilla factor, sling all ya old soil in any bag and use it at your spot, id dig into the ground and throw in some biosys powder or similar, and let it work its magic?!.. start ya seeds indoors and easily transplant them once they've toughened up a bit roundabout May!.. see how they get on and drop some more in June... one run is gonna get most of the sun guaranteed!..
Easy now!..

Instraplant!.. I think this is called... when you put a cup in a cup lots has been said about its merits.. when ya see roots make a cup size space for it in your plot and slot it in!.. easily transport a few in a rucksack wrapped in tubes of newspaper... and That's copper slug tape around the rim of the cup which will be planted level with the ground to help keep slimy things out!..

Easy now!..

@THE BEAR the only advantage that I can see to growing in a cold frame is that you can get an early start (end of March to end of April). Then you’d have to take the lid off for flowering otherwise the humidity in there would be too high. With most cold frames you build them against a wall which isn’t an ideal place for flowering cannabis as there isn’t very good airflow and you’ll get mould.
A good option to get an early start though!

Im not sure how to do the outside grow I plan,, any help be much aprecated .

I have locations outdoors not far from my house In the country,
should I dig holes or beds in the ground and fill with light mix, and make a wire perimeter around the plot,,,?
Or make a perimeter and set fabric pots on the inside the perimeter?

When planting in the ground what stops the roots traveling past the soil you have put into the hole,.? Or do the roots stay in that area,
The spot I wanted to use is has got some above shading with small trees, will this be ok or is an open patch of ground better,

I would definitely recommend autos for outdoors in the U.K. just to avoid the bad weather in late September - early October. The trouble with U.K. summers is how unpredictable they are; we are likely to get some rain the trick is to miss it in the last weeks of flowering. That’s why I choose to sow one or two seeds every week through April and May - I don’t have all my eggs in one basket.
In terms of site prep, it does depend on the soil at your site. My spot is covered in brambles and moss and the soil is clay so I’m going for cheap fabric pots as I think the improved yield is worth the risk of losing my pots.
I am going to experiment with direct planting though; I’m going to make some pots out of paper to grow the seedlings in then I’ll bury the paper pots at the site once I have small tough little plants. The paper will decompose and the roots will be able to grow through it.
As for the wire, why do you think it’s necessary?
