So I'm checking ph and ppm just now. I lift the netpot lid of bubblicious and poof a bunch of little flying things comes flying out.
Now, i have a few flying things here and there not having been a problem, i thought.
Fungus gnats in DWC?
If so, what should i do?
My res temps stay around 74f. That's the best i can do, this go round.
My other 3 did nor seem to have this going on, but then i have a veritable jungle going.
They've just entered flowering last week.
Any help?

Weird.... Damn those little bastards. I wouldn't expect to see fungus gnats coming out of a res. All I know about them is that they ONLY eat dead plant material, and will nest/lay eggs in topsoil. Every time I have dealt with them, as soon as I saw them I removed every dead leaf I could find, cleaned, and covered my topsoil with 1 in gravel / perlite to suffocate the unhatched larva.

I'm at a loss tetra. I mean I've seen a few flying things here and there, a few stink bugs, even a few large black ants and I'm inside!
There's growth the flowering sites are filling out. I do notice last 2 days a yellowing of some bottom leaves and my ph drops low all the time.
ugh, to have come this far and now bugs?

You do res changes or no ?

They couldn't be fruit flies, could they?
Hey Armani
Thanks so much for responding. I'm looking for any input!
I'm not sure. I know what fruit flies look like. Fruit flies seem more "meaty" than these. These things are just a teeny puff spot if you mush one. Like a moth if you brush against it, that fluff stuff.
I lifted up the netpot lid and tried to move it away, but roots have grown around the airstone. I couldn't seem anything squiggly or moving around but then again... im not sure what i'm looking for.

Try growing a pot of petunias in your grow area next time. The petunia has sticky hairs all over them, and it traps those little buggers. When I open my grow tent, it smells like flowers......and skunk.

make a vinegar trap, simply take a water bottle cut the top of and tape it mouth piece down into the bottle as to form a funnel tape the top to the bottom really good and then fill the bottom with a 1/4 to a 1/2 inch of apple cidre vinegar and ad a few drops of soap to break the surface tension that will deal with the adults works for fruit flys and fungus gnats
