Hard to know for sure why the ph is rising until we know if the ppm have risen or dropped.
For example Ph up and ppm down means res is too weak.
Nutrients are acidic so if the plants taking up all the nutes that leaves the water more alkaline (higher ph)
And vice versa if a res is too strong the roots will uptake more water than nutes making the res more acidic (lower ph)

I also had slime when my res temp was too hot. But didn't get the root rot. Anyways, if there's some living bacteria or else, it might be feeding on your nutes and throwing your pH out of balance. Though since the root rot is healing it probably means those should die.
Your plants look nice btw

Ahaha cheers man I wouldn't say a natural, I'm usually more of a natural disaster at this kinda stuff!
I got a selection of 10 sweet seeds seeds in a random mix, and I've been really impressed with them, lovely tastes and nice and potent, I find some autos can lack a lot of the flavours their photo counterparts, but not one bit with the previous sweet seeds I've grown out.

Oh no, you're not! All help is much appreciated, cheers bro!! It feels like I'm doing my first grow again, that nervousness when you can't keep out your tent for fear of doing something wrong! But all seems to be fairly happy, apart from daiquiri lime

Cheers man the pH seems to be getting more stable, so don't know if it's a bit of rot throwing it off or something, but plant doesn't seem to be affected much at all.
I've been using sensizym, along with a product called healthy roots to combat root rot. On next dwc run I will run healthy roots from the very start as a preventative of it.

Good morning AFN

Checked pH and ppm this morning,
pH is sat at 6.3 and ppm is 750.
Res temp 18.4 Celsius.
So pH seems to be getting more stable while the ppm is dropping ever so slightly. Plant isn't showing any deficiencies, leaves are praying to the light, overall seems happy, so I'm not gonna adjust res just yet. I'll check pH and ppm before bed, see what's happened, and make adjustments tomorrow morning if necessary.

I'm having the struggle of deciding on a new setup, so I'm wondering if any of you can give some advice.

Currently running 60cm x 60cm x170cm tent. Fairly small I know, but I only grow for me and my girlfriend mainly. Now in that I have 2 x Cree 3590 3000k 72v running at 100w each, so 200w in total.
(I lose a bit of efficiency running this high, but with led technology, I figured by the time these lose a lot of brightness, new models will more than likely be on the market, so I'll end up replacing with those.)

So here comes the problem, my options currently are, to go for a 1.2m x 60cm x 1.8m tent, (the option my girlfriend prefers) or get a 1.2 x 1.2 x 2 tent, (my preferred option.) I'm going to try and twist the arm of girlfriend into the bigger tent. Now I'm unsure on which lighting to run.
A list of gear I already have
1 x 600w ballast
1 x adjustable ballast 250/400/600/660
1 x 180w draw viper LED, the blurple kind.
And various MH and HPS sodium bulbs of different watts.

I was thinking of going back to hps/mh, but the energy costs are the main reason against doing this, as they can really use some electric those bulbs.
My other thinking is, just buy 4 more cobs, and make more lights, but im trying to do this with spending as little as possible. I already own a meanwell driver, so I could run 4 x 3590's at 36V at 50 watts each, much better efficiency, just the price of the cobs and cpu coolers, added with my current cob setup, I'll get a few 6500k and 3500k to try and fill the spectrum a bit, will have 6 cobs in a 1.2 x 1.2, would this be enough for that space?
Or run a mh/hps setup with 600w bulb, perhaps with my current cobs added during flower for a boost.
Or get the slightly smaller tent, run a 250w hps/mh as well as my current cobs.

Sorry if that's a bit drawn out. But yea, that's my thinking at the moment. No idea what to do lol.

I would try real hard to talk her into that 1.2x1.2×2.0 that extra 8 inches in height will make all the difference.
On a few occasions ive had my light at the very top of the 2m tent with dwc grows.
I run 600w hps myself and usually get 1gpw+ would love to build a cob light myself but funds are low

Yea I'm trying my best, I think she's coming round to it. I'm tempted to just get the tent, get it all setup and what not, just see if she notices. Ha. She'll either laugh or cry!!!

Do you do the full grow under HPS? Or do you veg using MH?

Some of the cobs coming out now really are great. I enjoyed building mine, although it was a bit stressful, the difference with growth is incredible though. (I was using viper led previously) Which is making me just want to extend my lights with extra cobs, rather than switch to HID lighting. It's just the initial outlay of money on more lighting putting me off, funds aren't great with just getting Christmas out the way.

I never have problems when i need anything for my hobby because my misses smokes as well and all i need to say is guess how much we saved with the 8oz brooklyn sunrise i grew last year(and she says how much)i tell her well we would of paid £1600 for that,so she never moans when i want anything anymore :smoking:
