Turning a shoddy shed into a groovy ganja growroom

Quick update, no pics today ... definitely tomorrow.
I didn't finish until late this evening, so didn't get chance to take some snaps.

I have to say, I've even impressed myself with how all this is coming together ... so far, no problems or disasters, everything seems to work exactly as I expected and I'm well chuffed..!
The main growroom is almost finished ... a bit more Airtec to go up on the walls, the floor needs doing, and then all the ducting and airflow equipment need installing ... it looks like a padded cell, I should get used to it shouldn't I? :vibe:
Just need to order the lights now.

LEDs have had me running around in circles.
I want an expandable solution, and my original thinking was to get 2 x MarsHydro Mars II 400 panels and then at a later date, separate them and stick another more powerful jobby inbetween them.
But they're not the most electrically-efficient brand, and I don't want redundant units in a year or two's time.
So I've changed my mind again (like a woman) and decided to opt for 1 x Advanced Platinum P450 ... and then just buy another one if it's any good.
Power-draw's about 250 watts and bloom coverage 4ft x 4ft ...

What do y'all think?

I'm going to test-run just 2 plants to start .. I'll be using Airpots, the best soil money can buy (Plagron Batmix) and some RHS RootGrow.
None of which I've ever used before, or even grown under lights before, and especially outside, in winter, in a shed..!
I have no idea what's gonna happen.
Oh well, 'fortune favours the brave' ...

I have this feeling....no matter which light(s) you go with, you are going to make back your investment likely first run, or second run with ease. We have faith in you bud wiser! You are gonna rock it pal!

All caught up now bud fecking hell I might have the lights but you have the grow room well jel [emoji23] if it was a choice between platinum or Mars I would go with platinum I've got a 1200 watt Mars sitting in the loft had it less than 6 months already has burnt diodes now it just sits in its box don't get me wrong grew some nice buds with it seems to be the thing with the Mars II think it's the blue diodes that burn out anywho can't wait to see you get your grow on [emoji111]

Amused ourselves to death

@912GreenSkell @Wile e Peyote ..Thanks guys.
I've still got another week or so left before I HAVE to make a decision..!
So no doubt I'll go round in even more ever-decreasing circles before coming right back to my first choice, which is cut a fucking big hole in the roof..!!!!!! ha ha ..

Anyway, I'm almost ready to get started now.
The vegging chamber's finished, just need to complete all the insulating and install the tubular heater when it arrives.
And on another positive note, I just love retailers who use a bit of noddle and go that extra yard for you ... the supplier of the T5 lights wrapped the whole package in black/white mylar plastic sheet, a dirty great big sheet of it!
Brilliant. Re-useable, very eco, very handy.
I used it to make a 'curtain' for my veg chamber:

The main growroom's almost completed now, too.
I just need to finish the insulation in here and sort out the floor and I can start to fit all the ducting and fans.

You have to admit, it is starting to look like a padded cell, don't you think?
I couldn't get hold of any Celotex anywhere .. I think the whole of Britain must be insulating their sheds..!
Opted for polystyrene sheeting instead, a bit more messy to work with and not quite as efficient, but half the price and easy to cut and wedge into place.
Not sure if the Airtec's reflective surface will create any 'heat-spots' yet, we'll have to see ... won't be a problem to get some white-sided mylar and stick it up if that's the case.

I've taken the day off today. I need to re-acquaint myself with the sofa and the remote.
I intend to take 'doing fuck-all' to new heights!

And on a final note, it's barmy to think this was full of skunk just a month ago:

Sadly, all she's good for is storage at the moment.
Not too long to wait tho' .. 5 months tops and she'll be turning green again.

I concur with that.
Look up some grows before you buy.
I guarantee an Amare se 450 would rock your shed. I got one and im getting another, I pulled 471 grams with it on my first grow. link below
Black friday sale going on...

Cheers @iampepe ... I have been watching a few grows, but everyone seems to have a different opinion coupled with varying levels of expertise and budget..!!
Plus all the Black Friday deals I checked were US-based offers, no good to me here in the UK unfortunately.
And I would LOVE that Amare ... gives me a hard-on. But at over $1,000 bucks, a tad out of my budget with shipping to add to that too.
One for the future methinks.

I'm inexperienced with indoor growing, so one step at a time.
I'm not looking to shatter yield records just yet .. just need enough to get started and on the first few rungs of the ladder ...

That's cool they are a bit expensive, I think you could get if for just under a grand shipped. I've grown with every light tech there is and I just cant see 150 3 watt diodes being enough. If that's the route you take I'd go with two of them or equivalent if you can. Since your into DIY how about making your own photon slinger?

Cheers!

Also, talking about fuck-off lights ... if I had the cash, I'd buy Fluence Engineering's SPYDRx Plus series ... I think.
Can only be used with CO2 enrichment apparently ...
Looks real cool tho' don't ya think?

That is cool. That would be nice to grow a wall of lettuce, been thinking about trying it. My lady and I eat greens everyday, we're part rabbit...
